The location is spectacular. The deserted beach with crystal-clear water is right in front of the guesthouse, you just get out of bed and walk a few steps to enjoy a truly remarkable sunrise. The staff is very helpful in arranging transportation or activities. We personally recommend renting a scooter which, at a very reasonable and convenient price, makes it much easier to go out for meals beyond Trincomalee and to visit Nilaveli and Uppuveli. Absolutely recommended by Tommi & Anita

Be careful when booking because we thought we booked the sea view room upstairs but was a bad room downstairs without window but « sea access »

We stayed at Dyke Rest, Trincomalee and it was a truly memorable experience. The location is unbeatable: right on the beach, with a stunning view and an authentic atmosphere that lets you fully enjoy the beauty of the place. The real highlight is the manager, Moses, who is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile – he really made us feel at home. The rooms are not very big and cleanliness could be improved, but the charm of having the beach just a few steps away and the genuine hospitality easily make up for it. On top of that, the fair price makes it excellent value for money. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a simple, authentic stay enriched by Moses’s warm hospitality.

They do not provide breakfast, but will make you tea or coffee. Moses was very helpful.

There could be more sun beds

The location right on the beach is perfect. Being able to wake up and go swimming with this view is just amazing. The area is also further away from the super touristic noisy area, so we felt more in the “real” Sri Lankan side which was great Moises was a great host and was super accommodating and friendly

The rooms are in need of an update, and they are quite small. With backpacks we were ok but we would’ve struggled with suitcases

**Moses was fantastic! We made a same-day booking and arrived at the location earlier than the official check-in time. The room wasn't ready (which was totally understandable), but Moses worked hard to try to get it done quickly, and even made us tea and coffee while we waited. Totally beyond what was expected. **The location, right on the beach, is fantastic. A super spot for an incredibly low price.

Nothing, really. I mean, we didn't have windows in our room -- but the rate was super-low, so we were not expecting anything. A huge bargain!

The position is fantastic, directly on the nice beach. The staff is kind and ready to help you. At a walking distance from the Tricomalee Fort.

The room we have, with private bathroom and A/C, is basic, and will need some improvement.thr price, according tò the standards, seems higher than the quality. Anyway, the possibility to go to the beach directly from the hotel, is great.

Superb location, right in the beach. Rustic and quiet. Out of the main town, away from the noise, and nestled with the local fishing boats. Kind and interested hosts.

We chose the room with the balcony and view and shared bathroom. It does overlook, and you cash virtually touch, the beach but the shared bathroom is only accessible by the stairs-cum-ladder and the bathroom (shower and toilet) is a sweat box with nowhere to hang a towel or clothes, and a challenge for anyone above six foot! But you accept it as it’s a bargain and in a beautiful location.

Beach location is lovely and quiet and staff are great, very friendly. Reasonable price also for such a nice private chill location. AC is great! Good place for snorkelling also.

The room was fine but a little bit small and run down. Shower was not great!

This rustic accommodation which is right on the beach, had beautiful views and an amazing snorkeling spot. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made some delicious food (especially the sea food). They were helpful with arranging transport and suggesting activities.

Upon arrival we discovered that the rooms we had booked were occupied but we were upgraded to better rooms so this wasn't a huge issue for us.
