The furniture and bathrobes were a little worn and had some staining. Guests should note that morning pool access may be interrupted by breakfast service.

Crystal Sands offered a beachfront view and good breakfast. The main pool had a beautiful view and the private plunge pool also provided a good option. Housekeeping was very good, especially Dileepa and Shammi. Restaurant food and drink was also good.

Location is bit isolated, jacuzzi is cold, using the stoves is estra charge. Pricy restaurant, But overall great stay.

We visited Crystal Sands for a day stay and had such a pleasant experience! The staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout our time there. We booked the 3-bedroom apartment Surf Suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and offered stunning beach views. The food was delicious, perfectly suited to Sri Lankan taste buds, and always served on time. We really appreciated the prompt cleaning service and the staff’s attention to detail. A beautiful location with great service — we would definitely visit again!

Only two room cards for 6 people. We asked for more but they didn’t have any. Location is not central Hikkaduwa but it was ok.

We as a three bedroom apartment. Was spacious and had a washing machine which was an added bonus at the end of the trip. Food was delicious. Staff were very friendly.

Nothing! Everything was perfect

The property is clean and spacious. The breakfast is very delicious and we look forward to it everyday during our stay. Above all the service is excellent. The service staffs were so caring and kind. They even went the extra mile to change our plunge pool water with lesser chlorine for my daughter who has sensitive skin. When my family and I were at the beach, the lifeguards were just looking out for us as it was quite a stormy weather. The level of care, concern and kindness we got from the staffs was exceptional! This is definitely the best hotel in Sri Lanka and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Didn’t have accommodation for our driver. Noisy nearby (although muffled with windows and balcony doors closed).

Good location for our needs (visiting family nearby). New and well appointed suite including washing machine and jacuzzi type pool on balcony. Clean. Helpful staff.

Driver accom would always be helpful, but close to many other options (and they kindly let our driver leave the minivan there overnight). Otherwise, no negatives.

We booked this as a treat, and we were right! What a wonderful hotel. Our room was HUGE (2 beds, 2 baths, large living area and what a balcony!). The room is smart and operated by voice command if you choose to eg curtains, lights, TV etc. The fridge was stocked with complimentary soft drinks and reasonably priced additional items. Even the tea and coffee was special. The view is wonderful, lovely sunsets. The sea is noisy and beautiful but not for swimming at the hotel, but still a long stretch of sand to walk along. The staff were excellent and the food in the restaurant was also great and varied (a la carte). The rooftop pool was well used by my kids and the rooftop bar was perfect. Really recommend this hotel.

Kitchen doesn’t have any crockery or cutlery so had to ask for some. Not conducive to making a meal. Have to get tuk tuk as very hard to walk along the beach as very steep. Would have preferred a better swimming pool that wasn’t where people are eating (on rooftop). Gym was ok but only had weights and elliptical trainer.

90 degree sea view from apartment fantastic. Wonderful staff. Made me gluten free bread. Breakfasts very good and evening meals too. Great to have a washer drier after staying at places where we couldn’t do laundry. Good air conditioning.

A little further out of town than we expected (10min drive via tuk tuk)

The staff were lovely, good variety at breakfast, the apartment was clean, tidy, comfortable.
