Sri LankaThe management response time to deal with issues is way too long than expected. We had an issue with the air conditioning in the room which only required a room change on a day where there was no full occupancy. Despite arriving at 7pm, We got the solution nearly at midnight. No manager came forward to check on the comfort after the solution nor apologized for the delay. The staff tried their utmost best to get the same room sorted and we decided to stay in the same room managing the AC.
The architecture of the resort. The architecture of such a beautiful property within Sigiriya is unbelievable. The tall ceiling, the swimming pool, the rooftop pool, the reception area...etc. Bundled with the smiling staff who are trying their best, the property cannot be dismissed as a good place to stay when in Sigiriya.

United StatesCovanro Sigiriya is a newish property and on first impression, looks very nice from the entrance. The lobby which leads into the dining and entertainment area is a huge but open space with no walls. It’s a nice concept, but in reality is hot because there is no air conditioning and there are bugs, flies and mosquitos everywhere. The guest room itself is relatively clean but the linens had a few stains and the towels were in dismal condition. The construction of the bathroom was poor and unlevel, causing water from the shower to spray everywhere and flood the bathroom. We had to ask for 5 extra towels to contain the excess water. Water damage from the poor construction has already cause mold to form around the tub and wall. Other attention to details were not made as our bathroom door did not close property and the room door had a quarter inch gap that could be seen from the hallway. The only edible at breakfast were the made to order omelettes. Everything else was subpar and had flies swamping about. Dinner was even more disappointing as it was barely edible. The reception staff and dining staff were all very nice and friendly. The manager or owner of this property though, is another story. You can tell from their defensive answers to guest critique that they need a lesson in customer service. While we were there, there was a gentleman (mustache, bald, muscular) that sat in the dining area and just glared at all the guests. He walked around acting like a tough guy but never once did he crack a smile or greet guests. He was just the boss man and made sure everyone knew they were beneath him. It was very off putting and rude that he had no concept of being nice and friendly to his hotel patrons. Given the lack of options in the area, it was okay but we couldn’t wait to leave. This was the worst hotel in terms of cleanliness, food, cost, and customer service during our trip to India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Dubai.

Costa RicaThe best thing about this hotel is definitely the staff. They really know what good customer service means and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. The management and team were amazing to my husband and me – honestly, it felt like they were treating us like family, no exageration! Whether it was room service, arranging transportation, helping us plan visits to nearby landmarks, or even recommending reliable external services, they were always there to make our stay as smooth as possible. On top of that, they were incredilbly kind and made us feel safe, which we really appreciated. We visited during the December 2024 holidays, and the hotel wasn’t fully finished yet, so the spa facilities weren’t quite there in terms of infrastructure, as well as the gym. But even then, the staff worked hard to make up for it with their effort and dedication. If you’re visiting northern - central Sri Lanka, I’d definitely recommend this place. It’s close to lots of key landmarks, and the team really knows how to make your trip easy, enjoyable, and safe.

DenmarkIt’s not finished many Elys are still under construction. The AC is not installed in the gym. Kids are is not ready. Essentially a lot of the amenities that are mentioned I just not there yet. There’s no kids club. Essentially it’s still very much as soft launch and you can still see that it was quickly finished qualities missing, it’s not luxury hotel.
The property had big rooms and a really nice pool.

FranceA true haven of peace in the heart of the Sigiriya jungle. We stayed at Covanro Sigiriya in early July, and absolutely loved it. The place is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by lush nature. We even spotted a chameleon, a monitor lizard, and kingfishers right in the garden! Special mention to the pool staff, who were genuinely lovely and always attentive. Our room was beautiful – tastefully decorated, spacious, and very relaxing. And the pool… what a gem! Large, clean, set in greenery, and best of all: we had it all to ourselves. A truly magical moment ✨ The restaurant serves delicious, well-prepared food. Prices are slightly higher than in central Sigiriya, but totally fair considering the quality. In short: the perfect place to relax, surrounded by nature with all the comfort you could ask for. Highly recommended!

United KingdomUnfortunately, on our second night at 3.30am somebody opened the terrace sliding door (we were staying in a lodge not the main building). Thankfully my friend heard the door opening and curtains moving and alerted me. I closed and locked the door (it seems we hadn't locked it, our mistake). What was most troubling was that I stayed up and watched through the spy hole. 20 minutes later a young man in what appeared to be hotel uniform (black with a yellow rib on the sleeve) silently creeping up the stairs and peered around to our sliding doors on the balcony to assess if he could enter. He quickly and quietly left (I'm guessing because he saw they were now closed). At sunrise we spoke to the manager who accommodated us in a new room in the main building. He denied it could be a staff member and suggested it was other guests who were up drinking late and confused about where their lodge was. The way this person moved up & down the stairs so quietly was not a drunk guest, it was definitely someone with intention to steal or worse. We do not believe this explanation and the incident ruined our stay. I paid our full bill at the end, I cannot prove anything but at the very least expected some compensation that our safety and security was not ensured in a supposedly 5 star hotel.
Our stay at Covarno started off well. The pool is amazing and most of the staff helpful albeit lacking some training for a 5 star hotel.

Sri LankaWe had a power cut and it took half and hour to fix it. At the time of the booking it showed that we are getting a private pool for our room. But at the hotel they said they only have Private pools for their suite rooms. In my email and in the booking confirmation it showed that I'm entitled to a private pool. Both over children were looking forward for that pool. But we didn't get the pool. I'l attach some photos for evidence.
Staff was friendly. Location is very quiet and peaceful. Swimming pool was breathtaking. We had so much fun at the pool.
