Tharu and her family are brilliant hosts. They are so helpful and lovely. Everything is of a high standard, very clean and tidy. Breakfast very good and has variety. The cooking class is good fun and the food is amazing. Tharu also offers a menu which is convenient as there isn’t loads of restaurants, and her food is absolutely delicious!!

Clean & comfortable room, refreshing pool, delicious breakfast and a very helpful host. Add to that a funny cooking class with elephants stopping by for dessert and you have the perfect place to stay in Sigiriya.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very smily, gentle, responsive, helpful, and they organized very well the different visits we have done nearby, and they provide also pick up / return to the restaurants with their tuk tuk. The place is very quiet, the food was really good (breakfast / dinner), the swimming pool is great.

Not a negative thing for us (!) but you have to know that the location is quite far from downtown Sigiriya. You can not walk there. On the other hand: it’s a very quiet area and great to get away from the busy city.

Very friendly owners! They make you feel welcome right away. They suggested several activities in the area and arranged a tuktuk for us. They were ready to answer questions and help out at any time and made sure we were ok. Breakfast is great and varies every day with local dishes. Swimming pool is very nice to relax after a hot day.

We never expected such warmth, but their care felt like family. We also chose to have dinner from them — it was absolutely finger-licking good! If I ever get the chance to visit Sigiriya again, Dew Ashi will definitely be my choice.

Really lovely stay at this homestay, the hosts helped with all transport to and from lions rock. Provided bikes for us to travel round Sigiriya. We also took a cooking class hosted at the homestay, it was a great experience and the food was delicious, as it was for the other nights we stayed too.

Everything was good

Best Homestay we stayed in Sri Lanka. Comfortable bed, good shower, great wifi, massive breakfast, free water and a fridge you can use for food/beer, pool was clean and hosts were lovely. We had dinner there both nights, food was delicious. The owner drove us at 4am in his tuk tuk to climb the rock for sunrise. Highly recommend.

We LOVED our stay at Dew Ashi homestay. The homestay was perfectly set out. It is upstairs from the main residence and is one whole floor that consists of three bedrooms with ensuites, a large dining area with 3 separate tables and a kitchen area. Our room was lovely and had a small balcony that overlooked the pool and gardens. Don't underestimate the value of having a swimming pool!! It was so refreshing to have a pool to swim in after returning from a hot hike up a big rock! The couple who own the homestay are truly beautiful. Nothing is too much trouble. One night we had terrible storms and some water came into our room. Our hosts immediately sprung into action to clean things up. Tharu even did my laundry. She also cooked dinner for us and it was delicious, as was the ENORMOUS Sri Lankan breakfast and daily fresh fruit juices!! One night after dinner we were served icecream with a topping of Arrack....amazing!! If you are looking for somewhere peaceful, friendly and relaxing and you love being pampered by friendly hosts then this is the place for you.

Dew ashi is a very authentic homestay which we totally loved. It is a bit out of town in a rural area, but this was not a problem as Chaaru the owner will transport you into town or sites (for a small fee) such as pidurangula or Sigirya rock if you need- he is readily contactable through WhatsApp. The room and bathroom are clean with mosquito nets on each bed. Tharu and Chaaru with their 2 young daughters made our experience extremely positive and memorable. They were warm and welcoming. We were there over the New Year celebrations which added extra cultural experiences including a traditional celebratory buffet breakfast. They provide filtered water to refill, and large delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. We also loved having a jug in our room to make tea and coffee. When we went on safari they made toasted sandwiches to take for lunch and soursop juice as a pre safari treat. Yum!! Chaaru arranged a brilliant elephant safari with his brother Patum in Hurulu eco park. This was recommended due to the recent heavy rain with elephants moving from Mineriya to this park. We were treated to many elephant sightings very close to our jeep. He seemed to know exactly where to find them. The pool was beautiful, clean with seats poolside. Tharu ran an amazing and informative cooking class and garden tour. We made using traditional techniques 6 different curries, coconut roti and coconut sambal and we feasted on this at the end. We could not recommend Dew Ashi more highly.

Our stay here was amazing, the owners are so caring and hospitable they were the sweetest family going above and beyond to make our stay in Sigiriya great. The room was spacious and very clean, the balcony was wonderful overlooking the green garden. The place is located in a lovely quiet spot surrounded by rice fields and greenery, you can see lots of stars there, firefly's, peacocks. The food there is incredible we did the cooking class and it was the best meal we've had so I'd highly recommend! The whole experience was great value and the owners can organise everything you want to do so it's very easy. If you need to get into the main town it's a short tuk tuk ride away and they can drop you off or pick you up. It's been our favourite stay in Sri Lanka!

We had the most amazing time here. The room was clean and comfortable, the little balcony was a nice addition. The family who run the homestay are so lovely and welcoming. Our stay with them went so smoothly. They arranged an afternoon safari with us and took us for a morning at Dambulla Caves. We rented bikes from them for the day and all the food is delicious.

The property is on a sandy track off the main highway so can become a bit muddy after rain but the hosts will pick you up in their tuk-tuk if you WhatsApp or call them.
