There was no air conditioning which made it quite hard to sleep, and the rooms are basic but for the price it’s definitely worth it

The location was great, we loved the breakfast every morning, and the outdoor shower was lovely. The staff were amazing, so friendly and kind. We asked to change room due to the size, and that was no problem at all. The lady who worked there was especially lovely :)

We LOVED Chami's place - first off, Chami the owner is a legend, well connected in town, and very personable. Before checking in, they made us tea and talked to us which was great. They gave us the best tree house on the property and lots of advice. There is jungle all around, train tracks, close to town, great breakfast, and very cute property with dogs/monkeys around. Just a cute little place.

It’s in a jungle area so there are some mosquitos, but in the the bar area Chami lights anti mosquito coils and provides repellant, and in the room there is a good mosquito net over the bed. So it really wasn’t a problem for us.

Super super friendly host! We loved our interesting conversations with Chami! Room was good (shower was downstairs but it was no problem for us). Very close to cafes/reataurants (including Chamis own restaurant Hikka Chill where we also enjoyed eating with a great ocean view right on the beach). Also very close to turtle beach and good swimming and snorkelling spots where there are plenty of turtles to be seen. Highly recommend this place!

Instantly fell in love with this place! Breakfast was delicious and always had options and filled me for the day as a surfer/traveller. Staff were so friendly and the whole vibe and energy of the place was so great. Felt like living in a tree house in the jungle yet with all comfort necessities and great location close to everything but not on the main road so a little quieter.

This place is an absolute gem! The place looks so awesome, with lots of plants and colors, like a little jungle camp - you can see how much effort and love were put into creating it. There is the most amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner are as tasty and the people working there are just looooovely!! We had a great time and wish you all the best! Walking distance to all snorkeling and some surfing spots available around. Always smiling and welcoming family/staff and relaxing atmosphere in the garden/bar/restaurant. 🙌🏼🙌🏼

The reason for choose these place,is that we wanna suport local people and try to see the way,how people live in these side of the world. It was our first visit in Srilanka. (We travel with my Dad) So yes,they welcome all age people,from young to old :) And actually was really worthy to visit that place. We like autentic/homemade style of ambient. Really wonderfull, what a man with a good intention can create. My opinion is that place is much better,then they represent in the pictures. What we like the most,that we get everything,what we look at one place. Sleping at autentic Srilanka people, with lovely human servis,and really good breakfast (morning smoothy with fresh tropical fruits buy my heart.) Its was also option order some lunch/diner at really simpatic ambient where they offer the breakfast. What also make trip more joyfull that they offer really interesting tours all over the country, tuk-tuk drivers and also pick up/drop off at Airport. These actually save a lot of time and energy for someone,who visiting the country for the first time. Ps: walking distance to the sea with turtles.

There’s a jungle-y feeling to this place which happens to come with a lot of mosquitoes. There were also gaps in the top of the room which meant they were able to get in. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest I’ve experienced either.

The vibe of this place is really cool, much better for the authentic backpacker feel if that’s what you’re looking for. The staff were just so friendly, the breakfast was great, very big, and the rooms were nice and comfortable and equipped with mosquito nets

This was my first stop in Sri Lanka and it raised the bar pretty high for the rest of my trip! I loved staying here so much that I extended 2 nights to 5 nights! The hosts were so friendly and sweet and the food was great! Amazing value for money. The bathrooms were cleaned every morning, the location was great as it was only a few 100m from town but off the main road. The place itself was super cool and felt like a little tree house in the jungle. I also recommended checking out there restaurant on the beach (Hikka Chill) it’s very cute and great food! Thank you so much for having me :) I hope I can make it back before I fly out!

The room isn’t completely closed in every corner, so little insects can go inside. I didn’t have a problem with it, but I think that’s something you should consider.

The whole time we were treated as good frineds at Chami's place. The place is a backpacker heaven, close to everything and with a unique atmosphere. The food and drinks at the place were great too! A very warm recommendation!
