Parking was outside the hotel, we didn't face any issues but we were a bit concerned.

The staff was very friendly, helped us a lot. The food was good and with nice presentation and the place was great value for money.

The breakfast was below average. Only 2 toasts with 2 eggs and some salad. They only serve tea as an included breakfast. The coffee is not included. They said coffee is expensive and that's why we had to buy it separately. That disappointed us. The other places we had been to gave us coffee. Those places were much simpler in infrastructure and far from the city center. Another thing was the water. It was horribly smelly. Maybe because of the water tank or something else.

The room was very cozy, with a veranda. The interior of the room was so thoughtful and soothing to be. The owner and the other employees were well-behaved and helpful.

Such a beautiful, peaceful spot away from the buzz of the town. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming and everything was possible! The room was perfect, a very nice natural light and cute balcony. Also, the grilled fish for dinner was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Hikkaduwa

Kumara, the owner and his son were very nice to us. Kumara organised a wonderful lake and mangrove trip on a traditional boat with a visit to a beautiful small temple that fit my budget! His son joined us on the trip and we had a fantastic time. On top of that there were no tourists at all! I can totally recommend that excursion. In the evening we had one of the best fresh fish I ever tasted and definitely the best during our stay in Sri Lanka at their place. Many thanks to the chef!

Some bedrooms are a bit smaller to the pics. It’d be cramped if you chose a triple room & slept 3 people there

This guesthouse was really lovely to stay at. The design of the buildings are quirky & creative, it’s amazing to have a pool you can mingle with others in. The restaurant where there always seemed to be staff is on the top floor. The rooms & linen were clean, & had big towels. I think each room has a private balcony, it has nice wood furniture on it. I loved having multiple pot plants in the bathroom & balcony, & around the complex. Loved the lush gardens. I had a stomach bug & Kumara the owner let me stay 7 hours after checkout till I had to leave for the airport - very generous. Him & his staff looked after us very well, there was always someone around to help

We arrived in the dark straight from the airport and Dilip greeted us and cooked us a nice meal. The accommodation is away from the main area in Hikkaduwa and surrounded by lush paddy fields and forest which look great from the balcony or upper restaurant area. The walk to town is pleasant and takes around 25 minutes (or you can get a tuktuk on pickme app for a few hundred rupees), saw some wildlife including, squirrels, peacocks, bats and a huge monitor lizard, rooms were clean and tidy with good air conditioning. Nice swimming pool and great breakfast. Dilip, Olga and the young lads were all very polite, helpful and great hosts! Thank You.

Such a wonderful place! That was really great to spend time here. During my trips I changed a lot of hotels and this is one of the best. I like atmosphere the most and wonderful people, they were very inviting, caring and give everything that I need and even more. Like coming to the old friends, even I see those people for the first time. There is possible to ask for fresh fish products to cook for the dinner and they come to the market and cook it personally for you. Also breakfast was delicious. I like how they paying attention to every details and how everything is perfect. Rooms simple but stylish and have their charm. Balcony included. Big windows. My room was on that side where sun is up and walking up with the sunrise that you can see from your bed and not need to go anywhere was absolutely wonderful. Location is not very close to the beach but this make that perfect if you want to stay away from trafic noice. It is in the middle of the jungle and just simple things like sitting near the pool and looking at the sky where bets and birds flying and hear the sound of the nature is amazing experience. I would really recommend to stay here to my friends and everyone who want to experience calm time in the jungles with great carring people arround.

I will say that the room is a bit naked. Just curtains and a bed. On the pictures from Booking there are a few artifacts/decorations, it would make a big difference ! The bathroom door doesn't close, which wouldn't be an issue for me because I was alone. But the window from the bathroom is fully open to the outside, and not being able to close the door means any bug can get in including mosquitoes. Also would be a quick fix :)

Loved the location. Very wild and out the beaten path, exactly like I wanted. The view from the balcony is great and the balcony itself is really nice. The staff is really friendly and the owner even gave me some nice snacks to go with my tea. Room was comfortable as well with good AC and fan. You can walk into town which is what I did everytime. A good 25/30mn but the path is really nice and not a lot of traffic. The pool area is also nice :)

Ceylon House is an amazing place to stay! The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the pool is perfectly maintained – great for cooling off on warm days. The staff is absolutely fantastic – very friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves delicious fish, which I highly recommend – a true treat for the taste buds. The location is also excellent – close to the center but situated in a peaceful and quiet area, perfect for relaxation. I will definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay!

I booked this room for my New Year's Eve party and I don't regret it. The hosts are really very nice and helpful. The food is very good. And the place is heavenly. A real disconnection while keeping the spirit of the island. I loved it. The discussion was open, I appreciated it, I recommend it.

The stairs are steep so if you have young kids this is not the place for you.

Wonderful b&b, off the main drag. It is such an interesting property, the stairs made my kids feel like they were at hogwarts. The rooms were comfortable with everything you needed and lovely powerful showers. There is a wonderful rooftop terrace where you have breakfast and dinner. We spent a few hours up there playing cards and watching all the birds and bat fly around. But the best thing about this place was the food. The breakfast was delicious but the evening meals cooked by Dilip were spectacular, most definitely the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. There is no menu, he goes down and gets what is fresh off the boats and then cooks up a storm. We had fresh fish, prawns and calamari. It was delicious.

We all got sick (reading some of the other reviews I think this is common?) my little boy got so ill he got a bit sick on one single white bedsheet which we were then charged 4000 rupees for which I felt was a lot.

Absolutely gorgeous view from the breakfast area. We were able to see bats /peacocks and lots of other wildlife. The owners were helpful and friendly. It’s a little out of town so quite chilled but you need to make sure your tuk tuk driver knows where to go or you have google maps handy! We got lost a few times. Breakfast was lovely but a little expensive and didn’t include coffee.

Olga and Dilip have really created a little paradise here. The two of them are incredibly friendly and helpful people. They accommodate any special requests and even looked after us when we were sick. The prices are higher and more like European prices. But for what you get it's totally OK. The rooms are very clean and as good as new, the air conditioning works great, the pool is clean and the food is great! If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you! Thank you both for your warmth! 😊

The location does require either a moped or tuk tuk. The owner also miscommunicated our moped booking, price was more than quoted when taken to book and we were charged 500 rupees for the ride to the hire shop. Not great as we had a booking sorted prior to this and they drop off and pick up for free.

The views were lovely and one of the nicest rooms we’ve stayed in on our trip in Sri Lanka. Comfy bed, great AC and free shampoo and conditioner. Lots of really nice touches here, room also has fridge and spare bed. The pool is great to cool off in. Some renovation still happening, but it’s very good value for money. The breakfast is also excellent
