We had a great time staying at this hotel. You can tell the staff care about the place, everyone was so friendly and always making sure things stayed tidy and comfortable. The location is amazing, just steps from the beach and they even have beach toys and surfboards you can use, which was such a nice touch. We spent most of our time in the water or just relaxing by the beach. The beachside restaurant was a highlight too. The barbecue was delicious and the view while eating right by the ocean was unbeatable. The hotel manager was incredibly kind and helpful and really made us feel welcome. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave and would’ve extended our stay if we could! It’s a perfect spot for couples, families, or groups of friends. We’d totally recommend it and would love to come back someday.

Breakfast was basic not much variety. I was suprised when they charged for bread when ordering eggs. Staff seemed untrained and slow at times esp when leaving a guest halfway and attending to another guest :(

Only 1 bed had a mosquito net. We had a gecko in our room and the staff said they had gotten it out, but we were woken up multiple times at night by the gecko calling his buddy outside.

We had a wonderful stay at Cardamon Nilaveli Beach. The service was excellent, the staff were always kind and helpful. The location is absolutely beautiful – peaceful and directly on a quiet, sandy beach. Everything was clean and well maintained, including a lovely pool area. There’s a nice restaurant on site with drinks and grilled food served right on the beach, which we really enjoyed. We also appreciated the calm, intimate atmosphere – it’s not a big resort, but a smaller, relaxing place to unwind. There are plenty of other nice cafes and local restaurants within easy walking distance if you like to explore the area.

There were only a couple of small downsides: the bathroom drains had a slight smell at times, so we kept the bathroom door closed. And unfortunately, there wasn’t a family room available for more nights – but given how popular the place is, it’s completely understandable. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to stay and we would love to return. Highly recommended!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Cardamon in Nilaveli. The location is absolutely perfect – right on a private beach with no crowds, just peace and palm trees. The beach area is beautifully arranged with wooden sunbeds (no plastic!) and natural shade from the palms. They even grill and make pizza directly on the beach, which adds to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel itself is tastefully designed, with stylish interiors and solid wooden furniture – even the floors in the rooms are hardwood. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. A real highlight was the beachfront dining – delicious lunches and dinners served just steps from the ocean. And to our delight, they even serve proper espresso coffee, which is not easy to find in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and charming stay by the sea!

Beautiful grounds and swimming pool on a lovely stretch of the beach. Bed very comfortable. The Manager was super helpful with helping us organise things and all the staff were all fantastic at making our stay enjoyable! Thank you!

There are some minor finishing touches that could be done to make the hotel look nicer. For eg., the bathrooms are quite bare. Food - there could be more vegetarian options

There are lovely coconut trees and a beach bar, which has food and drinks. 3. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you Thivansu and team who worked hard to keep our rooms clean. Lovely property with a great location and helpful and kind staff. The location is the best, right on the water on a quiet beach. Dive shop next door and good swimming. Paddle boards are available for rent. The facilities are kept immaculately clean, the room is well appointed, food is nice (beef burger is the best) nice ambiance out in the beach shack and best of all are the polite and friendly staff who check on you constantly. My family and I stayed here and had a great time.

Maybe we were just unlucky with our choice, but the meals we had were quite average. We found decent restaurants in both directions along the beach - pretty much next door, so it’s not something that would bother us much.

An amazing hotel to stay in. If you just want to chill out in Nilaveli and enjoy their clean, private beach with sunbeds and fresh coconut drink in your hands, this is the place to go. Right next door, you can book diving lessons, snorkeling or whale watching trips, so you basically don’t need to leave the place during your stay. And if you do, the kind and friendly staff gets a tuk-tuk for you that takes you anywhere you need, even with multiple stops along the way.

The hotel was very nice and clean and next door to a great diving center! But the staff really made the vacation great! We had lovely helping staff throughout the stay especially Danu and with the other staff members he made the stay very pleasant. Would really recommend to anyone wanting to go to nilaveli:)

The AC in the room was not very powerful..we had to leave it on for two hours before bedtime so we would be able to sleep. The staff were very helpful in trying to resolve the setup but they could only do so much when the machine itself doesn't work well. Besides the remotes for some inexplicable reason are in Chinese which neither the staff nor we could read!

The staff were incredibly sweet and really helped out in many small ways. The room was very comfortable and the location absolutely beautiful. We went in low season and the beach was so quiet and the sun beds free. It's a perfect place for reading and swimming all day.

The food menu because there were not many vegan options. The only coffee was instant coffee, so that was disappointing and there were no plant based milks. The menu itself was a bit messy and could use a reprint with a standard design.

The property is excellently located in front of a small beach that feels private. The beach is quite shallow at the beginning so it’s perfect for people who don’t swim and children. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was big and the view was amazing! It’s perfectly located next to a diving center where you can book a trip to Pidgeon island to do diving or snorkeling. I fell asleep on the beach multiple times as it was so calm and peaceful. We already miss this place so I definitely recommend it

Great place ! Really ! Big room, nice setting, superb view from the balcony. Right on a clean sandy beach, next to a PADI center offering also many activities for non divers. Location was perfect for us (away from the village, but 2 min tuk tuk ride from shops). Kids were very happy with the pool, me happy with the cold beer, wife happy with the ocean. If ever back in the area we will do it again.
