Blooming Rose is an ideal place to stay. It cannot be overstated how lovely the view out of the balcony is. Photos don't do it justice Sitting for breakfast, or out with a book, it looks like a setting from a film. Secondly, the staff were fantastically charming. Displaying the best of the understated Sri Lankan hospitality, everything was at our convenience. We were happily taken in a Tuk Tuk to our tours of Ella, and our washing was sorted hassle free. Ella is very walkable provided you have the fitness and mobility. A walk down the steps and along the railway track into the town takes about 15 minutes.

We liked everything but must mention that there are a number of stairs down to the property and there is building work currently going on. The building work in no way impacted our stay as they worked at very reasonable hours and finished long before bed time.

Everything!! The family who run Blooming Rose are so friendly, caring and welcoming and nothing was too much. The room was fantastic, very clean and modern and came with a fridge and microwave along with all other necessities. The view was absolutely outstanding. We have been lucky enough to travel to many countries and this was by far the best view iv ever had from a hotel room.

Blooming Rose Ella was the perfect choice for our stay!Breakfasts were absolutely delicious and always fresh, the host was incredibly kind, always ready to help, and even drove us wherever we needed to go. The room was fully equipped – fridge, hairdryer, and everything you might need during your stay. The view from the terrace is simply breathtaking, overlooking the stunning landscape. The accommodation was clean and tidy. There are steps leading to the property and the access is a bit challenging, but the friendly hosts help with the luggage, so it wasn’t a problem at all. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Ella!

We stayed just one night at Blooming Rose Ella, but it was truly special. The location is stunning, surrounded by lush views, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Perfect for couples or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. We only wish we had stayed longer!

Shower pressure not great but fine for a quick post-hike wash!

The view is absolutely incredible. The beds are so comfy and the host went out of his way to help us with our luggage and drove us out early in the morning to do a hike. Breakfast was also sublime

water pressure wasn't great but understand they are looking into this. Not a negative, but there are a number of steps so if you have mobility issues then something to be aware of but anyone so worth it for the views & hospitality.

The views from the property are nothing short of spectacular. The family were so welcoming, friendly & very helpful (Gunni dropped us to the start of Ella Rock walk in their Tuk Tuk). Breakfast each morning was delicious. Would happily stay again and recommend to others.

You will need a driver or tuk tuks to get to property and there are steps down so not for people with walking difficulties. It is not high end accommodation but good basic accommodation with kind family. Some building work adjacent to property.

The view from the property is divine and the family-run guesthouse works very hard for its guests. The breakfast is extremely good and the rooms are clean.Relaxed ambience and the owners were good at arranging tuk tuks into town.

There were quite a few steps down to the hotel- absolutely manageable and fine but something to consider if mobility is an issue.

The view - just wow! And the staff were so kind - they were very welcoming, helped us with transport during our stay and breakfast was outstanding. Thank you for your kindness and making our brief stay in Ella so memorable.

Location is not great in general, but specially if you have mobility issues. During the day you can easily walk into town by following the train tracks which takes around 15min however, I would not recommend at nighttime. Mosquito net was on the dirty side.

The views from the room were incredible and breakfast was one of the best we had throughout our trip in Sri Lanka. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they even came to pick us up from the train station as when we arrived is was raining loads and we couldn't get a reasonably priced tuktuk.

A wonderful place- the best possible view of Ella with the hills and waterfalls. The host Gunni is so friendly and will help you out whenever you need it. The breakfast was so good with loads of food to fill you up for the day

We loved everything in our 2 night stay. The view through the waterfall and Ella's rock was breathtaking. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh fruit, coffee or tea, etc. Furthermore the owners are very friendly and kind. Highly recommend.

The host was adorable but didn't speak very well English, so it was difficult to communicate. You should bring your own shower gel and shampoo as there's only one tiny soap and a small bottle of shampoo for 2 people for the whole stay.

The view is breathtaking, the location is perfect- 15mins walking from the city center, close to the Uwa Teafactory and the Mahamevnawa Buddist Monastery, the breakfast was rich and tasty.

The best host ever. Very nice friendly host, we couldn’t get a tuk tuk when we got to the train station, the host came to pick us up. Waking up to the most amazing view of the sunrise and waterfall sound at the background. The breakfast was amazing!
