Indika was a great host, very welcoming and makes an amazing curry! Hotel was clean and comfortable and we would recommend two nights as after a morning safari it was nice to spend the rest of the day relaxing.

I so regret not staying longer…

One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Sri Lanka 💯. The hotel and rooms are spotless. The staff are incredibly attentive – I believe they are the most polite people I have ever met. They have this special way of putting you at ease and making you feel reassured (coming from a busy city where everything moves fast, I was pleasantly surprised). THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT 👌🏼 – the breakfast is outstanding. They truly adapt to your preferences and have an impeccable eye for detail. Thank you to the entire team. We will be back! 🫶🏼

This is a great guesthouse to stay at in Tissa, Indika was very kind and helpful, he organised a group safari and Taxi to Ella for me, both of which were well priced and enjoyable. The food prepared by the kitchen was delicious. The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable. The walk to Tissa Lake from the guesthouse is also very nice.

We were made to feel so welcomed by the owner at Ariya Tissa. The rooms are spotless, modern and have all the amenities you need. The location is great for Yala and the owner organised a morning safari for us at short notice. Aircon was great and shower was lovely and hot/ powerful. We had a delicious lunch of homemade soup after our safari and the breakfast was an extremely high quality and made to cater to my dietary needs. I would recommend this hotel 100% for anyone looking to stay in the Tissa area.

The room was a bit dark since there was only one small window. Not much to do near by.

The room was big and comfortable, the bathroom was new and super clean with eco friendly toiletries. We enjoyed the dinner in the property, the owner was kind and very welcoming. The made take away breakfast for the morning Safari.

Nothing A side note - people complain sometimes in their reviews about insects. We didn't notice anything extraordinary, just some flies and ants which is normal if you're on the village and close to water. Nothing to complain about as it's really clean and well maintained place.

The staff at Ariya Tissa were very welcoming and helpful. They organised our safari in Yala, which was with an excellent guide. The food was cooked fresh and was probably the best we have had in Sri Lanka. Rooms were comfortable and airy, but WiFi a bit flaky.

The whole area/city had lots of bugs and insects, so we could not keep the door open even for 1 sec. Despite that, some insects find their way inside and specifically on the roof.

I really like the vibe there, minimal clean room with extremely nice staff. They gave us a welcome drink that was nice. The room was big enough for people, and the bathroom was clean. Water pressure was perfection 😀 Overall, i was satisfied with our 1 night stay there

This was just amazing. The hosts do everything to make sure your stay is top notch. Food is excellent and besides the breakfast which is included, we ate two amazing dinners there. Safari is so fun. No leopards came out but a full day of so many other animals!!

Tasty breakfast, one morning they even prepared it for us for 4.30 in the morning as we were going safari. Really tasty dinner made by owner. Property and room, all really modern and spacious. All facilities in the room what you need and good air conditioning. Also very good bathroom and shower. We were taken care of since begging to the end of stay.

Nothing to dislike.

Our rooms were large and comfortable. Our hosts couldn't do enough for us, they were just wonderful. The food was sublime, as you would expect from a chef who had cooked for the Sri Lanka Embassy in Australia. Couldn't recommend Ariya Tissa more.

There isn’t anything to dislike. The owners work hard to make their guest house a success, despite the odd loss of power or WiFi, and occasional loud music from the house next door. One small request would be some clothes hanging capability in the room.

Lovely people running a very comfortable 2 bedroom guest house, with plans to complete the second storey and turn it into a 4 room business which would be just perfect. Spacious, comfortable room, huge bathroom with excellent shower. The hosts are always asking what more they can do to make their guests’ stay better, ever willing to help. Best of all, the food: delicious home cooked meals by a proper chef, quite the best in a month in Sri Lanka.

We loved this hotel. It only has two rooms and the staff worked very hard to make us welcome. They suggested an evening walk to the lake which was very interesting

Huge room, strong water in the shower, quiet area. Only two rooms finished, upper area is still under construction. Nice open air lobby area. Hosts could probably add some more decorations, furniture, and floor lamps to the room to brighten in up and fill it out. Would stay again.

If you like a little place in the residential area that you can walk around and talk to residence locally this is it the decorations are all by the owner and they’re only two rooms available right now so it’s very private and they serve on site food that they prepare from scratch, which is very nice

There wasn’t anywhere to hang clothes, but for a 2 night stay it really did’t matter.

This place has just two delux bedrooms in a lovely private, pretty little compound. It is managed by Indika and his wife, who live off site but are constantly around either cooking in the little restaurant, (Indika was a chef for the SL Embassy in Oz for 5 years) or arranging trips for guests or happy to chat, whilst constantly keeping the compound clean and tidy. The compound is within easy walking distance of the lake for an evening stroll, or the town for other restaurants. Indika organised a half day safari for us, which was great. Our jeep driver Nissinka had loads of knowledge and was very competent at spotting animals we would never have found! We stayed 2 nights and felt really sorry to leave. (Oh and the shower is better than my one at home!!)
