Very friendly people, quiet location on hill in the nature

Not a problem for us, but the last bit of hill to the property was very difficult for cars and tuk tuks, we usually just walked it and it took us less than 10 minutes. Could be an issue for those with mobility problems.

Very friendly hosts! So kind and it felt like we were part of the family! Spacious and clean room with lovely balcony to chill on. We really enjoyed the delicious meals that were cooked for us!

Arazo Villa was an outstanding choice! Both the host and her son were absolutely wonderful—always available to answer questions and offer guidance. Hasith even went the extra mile by picking me up at the station and personally driving me to Colombo. Truly an exceptional person. Yes, the climb up to the villa is steep, but it’s absolutely worth it for the incredible experience. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay!

The bathroom was always full of mosquitoes, even we were eliminating them, new ones were respawning all the time. To get to the villa you need to go uphill in a very stip road, for us was not a problem, but maybe for someone it might.

I was happy to spend my holiday in this villa, the most caring owner and her son, kind responsive, always advise what, where and how best👌, everything in walking distance around, I saw the most gorgeous sunsets from my balcony, this view fascinated me daily 😇,Manouri, Hasid warmest greetings, not saying goodbye, but say see you later!!!!.

It’s located up a very steep hill that wouldn’t be suitable for all but taxis can reach it easily and tuk tuks will take you most of the way up.

Really spacious, clean rooms with good air con/showers and a super friendly host. Close to the beach and amenities.

Loved this stay so much wish we could stay longer. Room was perfect, air con great, shower great with warm water. Clean. Beautiful place full of trees very jungly feel to it. Gorgeous couple of dogs tutu and Jimmy. We felt really looked after like we was at home. Owned by mum and son and they are both really lovely and easy to talk to. No issue with mosquitoes either!!

It's not a problem for us. You don't get views without a hill, and it is very steep. The place may feel a little too basic for some people. Essentially, you are at their home, close to how srilankan people live a simple life.

The host is an amazing, cheerful lady and works extremely hard. She really cares about her guests. The garden is lovely and the view is wonderful from the upper floor. The place is very simple and rustic. The monks live next door, and you can hear chants together with the lovely sounds of the birds in this rural location. The shower was warm, unlike some places we have stayed, soap and towels are provided. The AC is a rotary fan and not an AC unit.

The property is up a short but steep hill. Very close to beach and town, but do be aware of hill!

One of the best homestays! We stayed three nights and were sad to leave. Very clean and comfortable, we loved having an outdoor bathroom. The hosts are lovely (best we’ve had on our trip!) and really make you feel welcome and at home. Food was also great!

The owner was so kind and welcoming. Still in walking distance to everything in Unawatuna, but remote enough to where it was quiet and felt like our own oasis! I would definitely stay here again.

Loved the stay at Arazo villa! Hasith and his mom Manori were super friendly and warm. The rooms are very well maintained and comfortable. They offered us home cooked Sri Lankan breakfast on request and the hoppers were amazing. Hasith was kind enough to drive us to the beach early in the morning in his car too. Highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Unawatuna.

The location was amazing, next to an old Buddhist Monastery, with an amazing view. One could hear chanting with the sunset. Not only that, the owner is an amazing cook. I had her prepare my dinners and had wonderful conversations with her and her adult son.

There was no drinking water available in the rooms, or a refill water station where I could fill my reusable bottle so I had to buy plastic water bottles from the staff. I wish there was a water refill station.

The room I stayed in had a gorgeous view of a temple, the ocean and sunset. It also had a good desk and chair with decent wifi so I could sit and work on my computer while looking out at the ocean. It's a nice quiet area away from the busy street. It is at the top of a very steep hill so be prepared to hike, but totally worth it for the view.
