Melani is an incredible host. She helped us with everything we needed. The food was delicious (some of the best we had in Sri Lanka!) and the views from the place are beautiful. The room itself was super comfortable and clean. We could even rent a scooter directly there, which was super convenient. Honestly, it’s a 20/10 experience, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Its not close to the city centre but because of it it is nice and quiet. Host will help you with transport so was no problem.

Incredible cosy and good place. The owner helped me a lot with everything and was so friendly without being pushy. Amazing hospitality. I felt so safe as a solo female traveler and taken good care off. The view is gorgeous also.

Melani is a wonderful host! The place is beautiful, set in a peaceful environment located slightly outside of Ella, up on a hill with stunning view. Everything was perfect — spotlessly clean, with a super comfortable bed and all the amenities you could need. Melani also cooked delicious meals for us and was always available and helpful with anything we needed. We had such a lovely time and wouldn’t have want to leave. Thank you so much, Melani!

The homestay has really nice views of Little Adam's Peak and the valley. However, it's a bit far from the centre of Ella and you definitely need a tuk tuk to get up there. But it was no problem for us as Melani, the owner, organised it for us at a great price. Melani serves a delicious breakfast every morning and is very caring. I thought our room was new because everything looked nice and shiny, but it is just very well maintained. I would stay there again.

The homestay is on one of hillsides over Ella. The place is quiet and the view from the corner room is splendid, view on Little Adam's Peak. The hostess, Melanie, was great and so was her cooking!

Maybe a thing to wipe the floor after shower (water was hot 🙃). For some people location can be problematic but for us was OK to be away from the city centre.

The biggest advantage was it was super clean, smelled good and bed was very comfortable 👌 The host was friendly, and we really appreciate her warm welcome. We could enjoy tea and breakfast on the terrace. She also offered to help us with tuk tuk with better price. Location was on the top of the hill, so it took a while to get from the center but thanks to this it has nice view. We enjoyed going down to the railway and walk to Ella Rock.

Melanie was a great hostess, the accommodation was very clean. We went out for dinner on the first day but when we ate at the homestay day two we were sad we didn’t eat there the first day. Sri lankan dinner there was just amazing. Other than that she was helpful with arranging tuktuks lower than ella tuktuk prizes a nice bonus when the homestay is further up the mountain but all for that amazing view! I would recommend anyone that is looking for an authentic experience for a friendly price.

Fantastic owners!!! Excellent, varied and tasty breakfast. And you can also have dinner here for a reasonable price. The room and bathroom are simple but functional and very clean. Beautiful walking environment. Here you can experience something of Sri Lankan life in the mountains. Lovely covered balcony with table and chairs where you can eat and enjoy the beautiful view. Good WiFi and the bed was wonderful! Stayed 4 nights longer than I had planned. Highly recommended! Excellent price-quality ratio.

Melani has been a wonderful host,from arranging tuktuk to pick us up from the station on our arrival, to the tea factory and back to the station on our departure. A good breakfast was provided too. She also cooked very delicious evening meals for us. The rooms have wonderful views from the balcony where we could sit and eat. The room was very clean and comfortable. Note that the house is high in the valley above Ella and about 40 minutes walk (10 minutes tuktuk) so if you are unfit or don't like walking then this place isn't for you. For us, we enjoyed the quiet, the views and the rising sun on our balcony each morning. And the birdsong and watching the monkeys!

Melanie is a fantastic host. Friendly welcome and helped with bags up to the room. Sensational view from the balcony outside the room where your breakfast and optional dinner is served ( which I highly recommend (1500 per person for home cooked Sri Lanka meal). Melani is an amazing cook and everything is beautifully presented. The room is so clean and everything is new. Easily the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Melani will help with ordering a tuk tuk ( 700 rupees into Ella town). Also got a scooter for us from someone local which we used to explore the are (2500 per day). Highly recommend

For us it was the best place to stay in Sri Lanka. The Owner is the most kind, helpful and trustworthy person we meet in Sri Lanka. After 2 days in Ella we made a scooter trip to Arugam Bay and there was no problem with leaving one backpack 🎒 and collecting it at the way back -> we decided to stay in this place one day extra to get rest before traveling back Colombo (she helped us to find the most comfortable and cheapest way to do it). Thank You! Quiet neighbourhood, non as many tourists as in other areas. Localised a little bit higher above the city - it gives you a beautiful view from the terrace! Apartment is new& super clean. You can get a hot shower there (really hot!🔥🔥) and enjoy a fast unlimited WiFi. Perfect choice if you have a scooter! (I highly recommend a scooter rental localized in the main street near the Apurvi Homestay).

We loved our stay at apurvi! The room is big and the bed is really really confy! The bathroom has a hot shower and is big as well. You have your own balcony where you can eat breakfast and dinner. The food was amazing!! Melani did everything she could for us, one of us got stomach problems (not from the food) and she helped us with finding a doctor and cooking special things exactly for that. Melani and her family are really sweet and helping you will not regret going there!!!
