Hello, Thankyou for your review and we are glad you enjoyed our location, rooms, staff and breakfast. You will of course hear the ocean and have to deal with sand if you are staying at a beachfront hotel. We do have the outside tap as well to rinse feet before walking up to the room. We can’t control nature and unfortunately during your two night stay we had the worst storms and wind of the monsoon season. The weather was wild with power trips and fallen trees in the surrounding areas. We feel that the rating of 5 (our lowest ever :( ) is very harsh as if you alerted us to the shower trouble we would have been able to fix the problem very swiftly as our staff are always here to help as reflected in your 10/10 rating for staff. Best to tell us during your stay rather than in a review weeks later. It would’ve made your short stay with us more enjoyable. Our rooms are all air conditioned and on the beach, we don’t have mosquito nets but we do have them available upon request. We usually don’t have any issues with mosquitoes, just the odd one here and there. We haven’t had them in the room since opening a year ago but it’s something we will consider. We are sorry that your stay was spoiled by the weather, maybe if there were clear skies and sunshine during your stay your review would have been more favourable. We have had so many sunny days during monsoon season with the odd crazy weather in between. We hope you had an amazing stay in Sri Lanka with many happy memories made. All the best, Amaroo Team

Hello, Thankyou for your review and we are glad that you enjoyed our space and breakfast on the beach. We are a relaxed beach hotel and welcome guests with a welcome drink at the beach restaurant, rather than a formal reception at the entrance near the main road. Yes, we have been doing some small renovations the past month in the low season and have lowered our rates to reflect this. It’s not major construction work, more upkeep that comes with having a hotel exposed to the salt and elements. We have remained open as we feel the works are not intrusive to the rooms or restaurant area. This has been the only complaint so far which is bound to happen.
