All good for us

Great location off the main street, only 3 mins walk to the beach and eateries area. Staff were friendly and helpful. They looked after our bags while we did a whale watching tour and then organised transport to the bus station at local rates. Room was quiet and great value for money. Beds comfortable, they had working hot water, a lovely outdoor seating area and both a fan and quiet air-conditioner.

Lovely stay in Mirissa, nice clean rooms, big bathroom and minutes away from the beach and restaurants. Super friendly hosts, which made us a delicious breakfast every morning. Great value for money, will definitely stay again.

What a deal on a guest house right by the beach! Amenities are basic but comfortable. Room is spacious with private porch. The hosts are remarkably kind and helpful. My only qualm is there was no soap in the bathroom. Otherwise, you cannot beat this rare combination of service, location, and price. One of the highest tiers of guesthouses!

Location is quite good. Breakfast portions are quite small. But you can ask for more toast. Didn’t liked tea or coffee. Everyone is quite helpful. Helped us with some other bookings as well

I couldn't get the hot water to work properly.

Considering the price, you get an acceptable deal here. No luxury but perfectly fine for several nights if you are spending most of your time at the beach anyway.

The size of the room is acceptable, there was a double bed and single bed which we used for luggage. There's a fridge in the room. No electric water kettle, but we brought our own. Breakfast was acceptable. Small omelet, toast, jam, tea/coffee and fruit. Perfect location. Just 2 min from main road with shops and restaurants, yet a quiet area. 5 min walk to beach. Simple, yet big bath room with hot water. There's both a ceiling fan and AC. The wi-fi worked perfectly. Considering the cheap prize you get a lot for your money. We didn't mind spending time in the room in the evenings watching movies on our devices. We would stay again if we ever come back to Mirissa.

Very welcoming helpful family. Everything you need in great location 2 minutes walk from the beach. We even had a fridge in the room! We would definitely have stayed longer if we had more time.

We had a great stay! The people who run this guesthouse are really kind and friendly. The room was great, breakfast was nice, the location is really close to the beach, and all for a good price. Would recommend!

The bathroom and the bedroomfloor were not really clean. Breakfast was OK but very basic. I had a room near to the road which was a bit noisy.

A fitted sheet on the mattress would be helpful as we found the sheet kept coming off of a night.

Amara Guest is central to the beach, lots of places to get both Sri Lankan and Western food and also the grocery store and ATM’s. The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I loved this home stay type experience.

It's good value for the money you pay in Mirissa. The hotel is close enough from the main road but it's isolated from the noise, although we had neighbors having a party we asked them to quiet down and they did. It's not the greatest breakfast, too, but you can ask for extra toast. What I did not like is that the room was not clean enough: there was sand in the floor and some cobwebs on the walls, and there was mold in the soap we were given.
