Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAs the shower is immediately to your left as you walk in and the drain is on the other side of the bathroom you can't help but get the entire bathroom wet and soapy when showering
Nice hotel, situated close to the start of the Adams Peak Trail. The owners had a well drawn easy to follow map to adams peak, things to do in the area bus times etc. The room was as depicted nice balcony area and comfortable chair in the room. They had a restraunt and bar on sight.

United KingdomThe Linen provided was not of a good quality. The bed sheets were rough and the towels like paper. The room itself had numerous holes/gaps around the window and door frames which allowed access to mosquitos and bugs. There was a net over the bed which helped but wasn’t great. The owner is in the process of renovating a number of rooms so there was a bit of dust and noise.
The property was around 1km to to start of Adams Peak. The owner and family are lovely and very friendly. Room was clean but dated. Food was also ok and freshly prepared.

United KingdomThe bathroom was quite basic but other than that all good.
We booked this hotel for convenience so we could do Adam's Peak as within easy walking distance to the start. There was a mosquito net around the bed which was good as we'd been bitten. The food was good and the staff were helpful and friendly.

EgyptWifi really just didn't work for us the whole time we were there which was stressful as I had no reception and work to do. Tried it in all areas of the hotel. Spa was out of order. Food was only so-so. For some reason there are wooden slats covered in plastic in parts of the window, so there's zero sound insulation in the rooms, so you can hear random stuff outside.
Location is amazing: great views of, and walkable to, Adam's Peak. One of the few places nearby that has a pool which was great for recovery post-climb. Crazy good value for money. Were helpful suggesting local activities and found us a guide for the jungle trek down last minute. Super friendly staff.

The emplacement is very good : nice view of the Adam’s peak and also near to do the hike (10 min walking). The staff was nice. The food is not very good, just ok and expensive for what it was. It is a perfect stop for one short night to do the Hike, but not for longer time.

AustraliaWe weren’t so prepared for western prices for things like tea and beer. But that is Sri Lanka generally. The staircase down to the pool is not for the faint hearted.
Location was incredible. We had the lovers room with a view of Adam’s Peak. The verandah restaurant was delightful with views of the mountains and tea farmers. The staff were truly lovely and generous and kind hearted.

United StatesNote this is a guest house - not a hotel. It is family run but run well. The shower in the bathroom does not have an enclosure ( kinda like an RV shower) so everything gets wet. Some of the wi does were just covered in netting - no glass - to keep the humidity in room down No card keys
Quite close to the beginning of Adams Peak Climb. Clean, Nice people, good food Indoor or outdoor seating, views of the Peak Good advice on a white board as you enter. Bed had a mosquito net.

GermanyEating there is, for Sri Lanka, a bit more on the expensive side. The room itself has a very good price for what they offer, but with dinner, some drinks and breakfast the price can rise fast. The wifi reception isn't good. In my room I didn't recieve any wifi, and when eating outside its very slow. It worked the best when sitting in the lobby. There were only 2 englisch speaking personal at the hotel, so for communication I had to talk to one of them. Not a huge problem, because I never had any trouble with that, but I still wanted to let you know. When eating outside you have to watch out for monkeys, they like to steel some food if you aren't watching. The staff will scare them away if they appear near the guests, but they cant watch for monkeys all the time. But because monkeys are common in that area, I wouldn't really count this as a negative side - the staff really tries its best and its you decision to eat outside.
Very nice staff, very welcoming. Most people (inlcuding me) go there to visit Adams Peak. Because of this the host already knew what I wanted to do and offered me a breakfast sandwich for the trip. They have a pick up spot for this, which you can use when starting the climb early in the morning. Other that that the place (inlcude my room and bathroom) was very clean, you were able to eat outside (with a nice view at the mountan side) or inside inside to be safe from monkeys. The had a little bar to have drinks and the food was very good. I didnt use the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained as well.

Czech RepublicBreakfast not included - and it was rather expensive (2200 rupees). Even though we got a bit extra I still wasn't full after (if you're a guy who just came back from the Adam's Peak, odds are you won't be either). For the price I'd expect a buffet style breakfast you usually get in Europe.. That being said, it was very tasty and you probably won't find better value in Nallathaniya.

We had an excellent stay! The manager was incredibly kind, honest, and always willing to help with anything we needed. She gave us many useful tips and made us feel truly at home. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of dishes that exceeded our expectations. The location is also perfect — close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. What really stood out, though, was the warm hospitality. Rarely have we been treated with such genuine care and attention. It made our experience unforgettable, and we would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Sri LankaWe didn't have much expectations when we booked the hotel to climb Sri Padaya as our group is happy with modest rooms as long as it's clean, warm and cozy. All this was given and on top we were offered a hot shower after the climb even though we've already checked out

United KingdomWe visited out of season so there was no pool, due to lower numbers of guests (we were the only guests the night we stayed!)
Amazing service from such a friendly team. We messaged ahead as we were running late and we were offered late dinner (it was ready on arrival) and even a packed lunch prepared for our early morning hike. Exceptionally clean, simple rooms and brilliant advice about onward travel and costs. The location is perfect for Adam’s Peak and only 10 minutes from the park entrance. We were made to feel so welcome here. Highly recommended.
