  Lion King Jungle Cabanas Review score: 9.3

  “The place is a little paradise. OIt is one of the best places we stayed! The garden is beautiful, very quiet and in the middle of nature. With a nice swimming pool. And when you are lucky you can see the monkeys from the pool. The cabanas are new and everything you need is there, comfortable beds. Our 2 teenagers loved the place as well.”

  “This is a lovely and relaxing place to stay close to tourist attractions. The staff were very lovely and happy to help with anything you need. We had a private pool in our room and the air con and king bed was very comfortable. The main building and surrounding gardens are very well maintained and setup. Cold beers and drinks available and staff even made us coffee before our 5am sunset setup off. I highly recommend a stay here unfortunately we didn’t have time for free cooking class but heard it was great.”

  “The staff here really made our stay, such a lovely group,of people. Also they make the best coconut sambol I have ever tasted. If you go there ask them if they have made the cinnamon whiskey yet, haha. The place itself is lovely. Our room was clean and comfy. They are very proud of the edible garden that runs through the property. The evening meals were a blast and delicious. On our last day they organised a cricket match with Australia vs Sri Lanka that was so fun that other guests from France joined in as well as our driver. The location is a bit out of town but was serene and quiet, well until we got there, haha. Great distance for all the local,sites like Lion’s Rock and Dambulla etc. We had a fabulous time there. It was nice to get out of the city and feel like we were really starting our adventure in beautiful Sri Lanka. Great staff, they became our friends …”

  “Amesh was a wonderful host and sleeping in the tree house he constructed himself was an unforgettable experience. Breakfast was delicious and we had a lovely dinner cooked by his mum. Amesh was really accommodating, giving us tuktuk rides into Sigiriya and organising a safari in Minneriya. We would definitely recommend staying here”

  “The manager and the staff were very helpful. Every time when we had questions they gave us good advice what to visit or where to eat. We had the option to eat fresh fried eggs, omelet or scrambled eggs every morning!”

  “Amazing place with super friendly staff that will help you with everything. They've been organizing our airport shuttle and taxi to Ella. We didn't know they also organize safari tours so definitely ask them for anything. Food options are also great.”

  “We loved our stay here. It was very peaceful, spacious and clean. You have a fridge and free WiFi which was great, but especially the pool was very very nice! All the people that worked there were very friendly. The vibe here was just great and the breakfast was delicious! Also Dilantha who is the brother of the owner helped us so much, he helped us a lot with transportation in sigiriya and recommending places! If you go to his other brothers restaurant he will drive you for free and his brothers restaurant serves great curry! :) If I would ever be back in sigiriya we would definitely stay at this place again!!”

  “Amaya Lake is a lovely spot to unwind. The resort has an incredible view of the lake and is surrounded by nature. Our room was verry roomy, and clean. Moving around the resort was made much easier by the buggy car service. We loved the tranquil walks around the property and the best swimming pools. The WiFi was fast and quick, and food was tasty and varied. The staff was the highlight of our visit. Everyone was helpful, and always willing to lend a hand. We would especially like to thank the front desk staff and restaurant staff for their outstanding service. We will definitely return again.”
