How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewStayed for 1 night as a staycation. The host graciously upgraded us to the one bedroom apartment that was available on the property. The apartment was so comfortable. It was a short walk from the supermarket and bus stop. The host is very responsive and ready to answer any questions you have. The housekeeper provides you with a warm welcome as well. I will definitely stay at this property again and I would suggest anyone to do so

Verified reviewI really liked this place because it had everything I was looking for—an affordable price, a swimming pool, and it's just a 6-7 minute walk to Rodney Bay area with all the malls and attractions. The owners were incredibly kind, and there's also room service available, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Kirja also was an exceptional gust. Very quiet and adhered to property rules and regulations. She was a very pleasant and respectful guest. I would recommend her to anyone. I am hoping that she would stay with us again in the future. Thanks again for staying with us.

1. Internet : the WiFi for room number 5 never appears on any of my devices I had to use other channels or personal internet 2. my room the first day I arrived was not prepared for my venue (no welcome card with the internet information (I would advise that on this card you also add the number of the reception when we need something and the reception is close) a towel inside the toilet bowl, no hot water… I have see the difference with the second day, the room has been properly prepared and it was more welcoming 3. the sound of the fridge, I have to switch it off 4. your hair dryer did not work 5. impossible to open the store to have some natural light since the windows has a overlooked 6. the mosquitos net of the windows has a big hole so it is usefulness and I have been bitten by the mosquitos because contrary of what it is mentioned on booking there is no mosquitos net for the bed 7. there is no fan neither The first day normally I should have a fan for killing the mosquitos it never came 8. I shared my feelings with the owner via WhatsApp, he never came back to me my list is not exhaustive

With respect to The fridge you should have contacted us to have maintenance take a look at it. The hair dryer doe work and should have been connected to the 110 voltage line as compared to 220 volts. There are no Mosquitoes on property. Even before you arrived you requested a mosquito net over the bed and I replied via WhatsApp saying that there are no mosquitos All the rooms are air conditioned furthermore you could have simply requested a fan. You had my contact you could have requested In addition the STAFF REPORTED UNSAVORY AND UNHEALTHY BEHAVIOR OF YOURS DURING YOUR STAY WHICH IS NOT IN KEEPING WITH A GUEST NORMAL BEHAVIOUR. Verified reviewThe room was super clean and smelled good on entry..the owners hannah and Lucus was very friendly and greeted us with smiles and made us feel at work ...I normally have issues with sleeping at villas but with my stay at Caribbean vacation I slept well and felt relaxed.

Verified reviewProperty and service well exceeded all expectations. The location is the best as it is a short distance to the Baywalk Mall, supermarket, and the beach. The hosts were extremely friendly and made sure I was well acquainted. They even offered me breakfast. The property included facilities for cooking, washer, entertainment, fast Wifi, AC, pool, and balcony with a grill. 10/10 stay no complaints! Glad I booked here and will be booking again, thank you for a great stay!

Verified reviewI recently had the displeasure of staying at Caribbean Dream CD5and I must say that it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that the owner and staff were absent, with their only concern seeming to be collecting money. The lack of professionalism and customer service was appalling. Not only was the absence of the owner and staff concerning, but I also encountered rude behavior and blatant bias against Guyanese guests. It is unacceptable and deeply disappointing to witness such discrimination in this day and age. Every guest should be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of their nationality or ethnicity. Furthermore, the property itself was far below my expectations. The uphill entrance to the hotel was poorly lit, creating a hazardous situation. Despite being aware of the issue, the management failed to address this basic safety concern. The drive up to the hotel was at an extreme 40-degree angle, making it even more challenging to navigate in the dark. This lack of attention to guest safety is simply unacceptable. I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider staying at this hotel, as it fails to meet even the most basic expectations of hospitality and customer service. I sincerely hope that the management of Caribbean Dream CD5 takes these criticisms seriously and makes immediate improvements. Discrimination and neglecting guest safety are serious issues that should never be overlooked.
Sorry your experience was seemingly below your expectations. Your experience though seems unrealistic and far from the truth. Our record speaks for itself. We pride ourselves in contacting guests prior to check-in to ensure a smooth and seamless check-in. While we facilitate a 24 hr check-in we utilize both check-in at the desk and self-check (where guidance is provided prior to check-in). Regarding discriminated against I am sorry you felt this way. Rest assured, no guests is treated unfairly or discriminated against. Neither was that the case in your instance. Perhaps if a guests removed items from the property not belonging to them and is the property of others we will definitely call and inquire as to why a guests would do so. Nonetheless, we should have you reported to booking.com for misconduct (which we didn’t). Please don’t blame your dishonesty on your nationality. To address the other matters: Lighting: The property has adequate lighting and security cameras which are monitored 24hrs a day. Logistics: Google maps can provide clarity to our location. We are walking distance to the mall, restaurants and other tourist attractions in the area.
