How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt's nice to stay in a house with a kitchen. Nice tile bathroom and on all the floors. Ac in the bedroom was needed and we could close the door and it cooled off faster. The owner was friendly. He likes plants and has nice ones in pots outside and at the front door.
For me the bed needed a cover on top of the blanket since im used to that.

There's is air conditioner only in the bedroom-it needs ac in the Living room as well it get very hot on a normal day

Verified reviewIt's a really cool stand-alone villa, with some privacy, all amenities, and a full kitchen. The place is spacious and charming. The host, Ben, is a standout human being, really plugged in to modern technology and willing to go the extra mile to make everything easy (great communication). It's also secluded and quiet, but not so secluded that it takes long to get to Gros Islet. Overall a charming stay at a really affordable price, we wish we would have stayed a bit longer.
There isn't much to dislike about the place, only a few details stood out. The poor dog chained in the backyard, yapping and crying, what's up with that? Is he/she OK? The AC on a 2h max timer in the bedroom is a bit aggressive, I understand why, but ultimately all it causes is for one of us to wake up in sweat every 3 hours to turn it back on (Canadian problems). The bed wasn't the most comfortable, and on the smaller side. And even though Ben takes great care of maintaining a Google Maps profile, it still wasn't easy to understand where to park and which entryway to take to reach the house. We originally felt like we had parked on the neighbors lawn (maybe a small sign could help?). Wi-Fi was spotty at best, we didn't use it much due to that. But other than these details, it was really nice, the downsides didn't bother us much, it's more of an FYI if some of these are important to you.

It is very expensive for anyone to pay for something that nobody used. To have an AC and a fan on for a whole day with nobody in the villa this can run the appliance hot and can cause fire.

Verified reviewVery beautiful villa that had everything I needed for my 2 week stay. The grounds around the villa are absolutely beautiful (inside and out) and well maintained. The villa was spotless. Everything (large and small appliances) worked very well. It truly felt like my home. I really commend Ben, the host as he was always making sure I had everything I needed and if there was anything, he tended to it immediately. The only thing I needed was a softer pillow. Ben also made me an authentic St Lucian breakfast and brought me fresh mandarins and soursop.
The only thing I can say is I wish it was a little closer to the beach so I could walk there, as I love to walk. But, with that being said, the bus was very easily accessible and passed right in front of the driveway.

Verified reviewNice comfortable and modest accommodation. The kitchen has all the facilities to prepare and cook a nice dinner. Air-conditioning and fans to help keep you cool in the evening. All windows have gauze to keep out insects and mosquitoes so you can leave windows open for a nice breeze. The accommodation is a short distance by car to Rodney Bay. The villa is surrounded by nature and rainforest in a quiet location. The garden is lovely and has beautiful fruit trees. Ben is a great host with lots of advice and suggestions for how to make the most of your stay.

Verified reviewThe property exceeded our expectations! It is much bigger than it looks in the pictures, the bed is super comfortable, the living room is big, with a comfy sofa and 2 arm chairs, plus a good size TV with access to Netflix. The kitchen is fully equipped and the whole property was extremely clean, we even commented on the lovely smell the towels had, really clean and fresh. Ben is a fantastic host, he was so lovely with us and really is an incredible person. The property is about 10mins from Rodney Bay, where you can find lovely beaches (the best in St Lucia) plus a good variety of restaurants. There are also a couple of supermarkets around so very easy to buy food to cook at home. We would recommend this property 1000%.
