One of our AC units leaked and as a result didn't work and the room got hot. I don't know if it is worth booking the suites as the deluxe rooms are very similar and lovely.

The view is utterly stunning. Completely fantastic. Worth coming here for that alone. The bedding was reasonable quality for the price range.

Hubby caught head on bamboo headboard which was a bit low. Wifi in first room did not work but once moved to another room it was fine. Bar shut by 9pm.

The pool was fabulous after day on Shompoo slowboat. Bed comfy. Views of Mekong and jungle amazing.

Over priced restaurant and mediocre food. There's already a 10 percent service charge, but tipping is "encouraged". So I guess the service charge is just a way to make more money and does not go to the staff as intended. This is unconscionable.

Best place to stay in Pak Beng! Lovely rooms, good AC, nice view of the river and the elephants, clean pool with a view, good breakfast, and an amazing restaurant with beautiful views for dinner !

Pickup waiting at the pier with our name, then presentation on arrival was extremely welcoming, as soon as we arrived we were told the time we needed to be ready for the slow boat the next day which is exactly what we were wanting. The room was beautiful and food was delicious too. Lunch also available to takeaway albeit $8 per person, a bit on the expensive side.

Beautiful hotel on the hill overlooking the Mekong. The views from the balcony were amazing. Large comfortable room - loved the wood finish and details. We were only there one night as we were taking the slow boat to Luang Prabang - was great to up grade ourselves to such a wonderful hotel. Dinner in the restaurant was delightful - wonderful views and great food - highly recommended place for one or several nights.

I could not find the light switch for the balcony a light and that we did not stay longer.......

The location is amazing with views of the Mekong River from up high. There is a lovely seating area for dining, as well as a terrace in front of the room for relaxing and lounging. The garden is very well maintained. We wish we had stayed longer! We were picked up at the pier and sent off the next day with a picnic breakfast and transfer back to the pier. The rooms were amazing, beautifully decorated in a French colonial style and very roomy.

The room was beautiful and we had a balcony looking over the Mekong. It was very comfortable, elegant, well run, calm and peaceful. Having come off the budget slow boat that we endured for 6 hours, it was an absolute delight to stay in such beautiful accommodation in a very basic town.

Beautiful hotel overlooking the Mekong. We traveled down with Nagi of Mekong (also highly recommended!) and stayed here overnight. We had a suite (room 10) which was gorgeous, stayed for dinner & cocktails and left wishing we’d booked an extra night. It’s a very relaxing experience after a day on the river

The shower wasn’t very good considering it was a more expensive hotel. The breakfast was very poor. We have had much better breakfast in much cheaper hotels.

They picked us up from the slow boat and took us back in the morning. Lovely location overlooking the Mekong. Elephants coming to bathe at 7am in the river. Really wonderful sunset and swimming pool. The rooms all have balconies overlooking the river and the wonderful vegetable garden. The hotel restaurant serves all the homegrown vegetables you can see growing.

Unlike the 7 other hotels I stayed at in Las, this one took my booking cost directly from my credit card before my arrival rather than giving the option to pay in cash. For me, this was a disadvantage as I had intended to use up my surplus local currency paying for my stay before I reached the Laos Thai border the following day. Hence my lower score for the “check in” question.

Exceptional location on the banks of the Mekong River. Very quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed watching the families of the hotel staff tending their vegetable plots. Elephant camp on the opposite bank. Lovely swimming pool and good breakfast and evening meals. Free transfers from and to the slow boat jetty. I stayed for two nights and would definitely recommend a stay iof more than one night to get the most from this hotel on your way by slow boat along the river. I will definitely hope to visit again.

Nothing major springs to mind

In a word; view. The balcony rooms offer a breathtaking view of the mighty Mekong. If you’re lucky, you can watch the elephants bathing in the river from the sanctuary opposite. The hotel arranged for staff to meet us when we docked at the pier and arranged for our luggage to be taken from the boat to the hotel. Rooms were fab, restaurant wasn’t cheap for Laos but reasonable in terms of what most tourists would be used to in their own country. Lovely place to spend an overnight stay.

This was a perfect stop

Amazing food- had breakfast and dinner was excellent! The Dinner menu was really delish. We were leaving early so couldn't sit for breakfast so they prepared a take away - what they put together was fantastic! Highly recommend.
