Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesOne of the two bathrooms was across the courtyard so it was challenging during the winter. Any other time of year would be fine.
Great location. This is the best compromise between still having a traditional Hanok and convenience. Host was great and very responsive.

United StatesThe bathrooms are located on the fringes of the property and are cold in the winter. The bathroom floors and toilet seats are heated, so this made it more comfortable. At times, generally at night, we could detect sewer smells inside the main house. I am not sure of the source of the smell, my guess is from the streets and that it was dependent on the wind direction.
Location was excellent. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The house and beds were very comfortable. Perfect size for a family of 5. I wish our stay was longer. We would have used the kitchen more for cooking, etc.

SingaporeNone. The 2nd toilet was across the garden and in winter it could be cold to access during the night, but that’s an experience in itself! Nothing negative about it but just all fun!
Host was very responsive before and during stay. House was very clean and comfortable. We also asked for recommendations on Korean bbq place in vicinity for which we were suggested a very accessible restaurant with great quality and value for money. We experienced first snowfall in Seoul and were mesmerised by the snow falling into the garden. Such a wonderful and enjoyable experience and stay overall!

We really love the traditional hanok experience, with its cosy living room and outdoor set of chairs. Its very clean and full of character. The location is great, very close to Insadong and there is also a park nearby, with cosmos flowers still blooming. Very pretty. The host, Suji is very responsive and waited to welcome us although we arrive almost at midnight.

RomaniaThere's a problem with the lightning bulb in the room next to the kitchen. The bulb still has some light even when turned off. Shower is a bit hard because all the things in the bathroom get wet if not careful but I understand the space limitation.
Nice and cozy hanok. Great location. The house is well equipped with washing and drying machines, water filter, dry sauna, kitchen etc. Has everything you can need for a longer stay. The host is very nice and helpful. She answered all of our questions and helped us with storing our luggage for a couple more hours after the checkout. Very nice experience of a traditional house.

United StatesZero complaints. We would definitely return.
Everything about this stay was wonderful! The location is the perfect combination of super close to many places including Insadong, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Gyeongbokgung Palace, but is also tucked away on a quiet, tiny side street. And the hanok style home surround an enclosed courtyard made it feel so special every time we can “home.”

LithuaniaThis was our first time in South Korea and Seoul, and it was so easy. From coming from Incheon airport to the property on public transport, to finding it when there. It has everything you want and more, located in a most wonderful neighborhood. The hosts always have your back, but when you are there not much is needed. Everything is cared about and nice. Everything you need is just around the corner, if it you need a nice place to eat or transportation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who are travelling in a group and want to stay at a place that is authentic and cozy.

SingaporeIf you have big luggage like an 28inch trolley, it might be a struggle to push it along the cobbled streets. Also need to be careful of mosquitoes at night. However, the owner provided anti mosquio repellant and electronic coils.
Beautiful and spacious hanok. The hanok owner was so kind to let us check in slightly earlier. Location is superb. Near to many landmarks and cute cafes like cafe onion. If you are a k drama buff, it will fulfill your fantasy of staying in a korean house.

AustraliaHad to be careful with limiting toilet paper being flushed down the toilet. This is the same in the Bukchon village due to the older style piping, and unavoidable if staying in the village.
Location was really good. Only about 150m from Anguk station and in the heart of Bukchon. The accomodation was clean and well equipped. They also provided many amenities including filtered water. The host Suji was thoughtful and very responsive.

It was an eye-opening experience to stay at a Hanok for the first time. We stayed during winter, but the flooring for the whole place was heated (even the washroom), so we felt very cosy the whole time. Suii was very helpful - suggested breakfast place when we asked, but basically left us to have our privacy. We really enjoyed our stay!

SingaporeAs it was winter, one of the toilets was located in a location where you need to step out to the lovely yard area to use to the toilet.... chilly~~~~ walk to use the toilet.... cannot shower there.
A nice cosy place with 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets that was more than sufficient for our party of 7. One hair dryer provided for each room. Very well equipped with washer / dryer, air fryer, microwave, grill pan and foot Sauna. Walking distance to Bukchon Hanok Village and Anguk station was just a few minutes away.
