Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This was my second time staying here. The location is great. Just at the end of a main shopping street in Myeondong which is very lively. They always have 24/7 reception so I was able to check in at 1am. The breakfast was good with a wider variety of things to eat.

TurkeyStep Inn Myeongdong is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Seoul. Its location is unbeatable – right in the heart of Myeongdong, surrounded by countless shops, restaurants, and pubs, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city on foot. The hotel offers a decent breakfast and provides coffee and tea throughout the day, which is a thoughtful touch and adds to the comfort of the stay. For the price, the quality and service you get here are hard to beat – truly one of the best value-for-money stays I’ve experienced. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and perfectly located hotel in Seoul without breaking the bank, Step Inn Myeongdong is an excellent choice.

New ZealandIt is definitely a hostel not a hotel and is basic but totally serves it's purpose. The room was simple but clean with excellent air con and good shower pressure. Breakfast was available but didn't have. Step Inn is in an exceptionally central location

South AfricaRoom was very small especially if you had luggage so you could not all be in the room and go through your bags at the same time had to take turns , beds not entirely comfortable was very hard, common area was not available at all times which is understandable but not accommodating for an early morning. Entrance does not have a ramp so made it very difficult with heavy bags. Bathroom leaked into the room when you took a shower.
Good location. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Had bigger than the usual Korean small towels which was good. Helpful staff

SingaporeThey only clean the room once every 4 days. It was not automatic even so. Had to remind them a day before. Come on we are on vacation & lose track of time. Had to wash own plates & cutleries after eating breakfast. That was a surprise as we were on vacation. The initial family room toilet bowl was facing the wall it was so crammed. Complained & the manager got us another room with a more spacious toilet outlay.
Central location. Daily breakfast provided . Good price point. Good size family room. Manager addressed my issues on the toilet layout & change our rooms.

United KingdomCan’t speak for everyone, but for the bed I was in personally, has a plastic mattress protector which I get needs to protect the mattress. But it had tears in which made it a little uncomfortable for me and it made a lot of noise when getting into bed
The location was excellent and the rooms and communal areas were kept very clean and tidy

Australia- bed was a bit too hard and pillows too thin for my liking - weird goopy gunk came out of a pipe in my bathroom which looked like actual faeces. I alerted front desk, and they were prompt to clean it up Other than those two things, everything else was fine.

SerbiaFacilities are in need of renovation, the hallway and bathroom have a stale smell. It can be noisy depending on other guests' behaviour. Location is good but the area is very busy, with people coming from every side, if this isn't your jam, you shouldn't stay in this area.
Bed was comfortable and had space around for all things which was great. Breakfast was also okay. Location is close to a lot of Seoul attractions.

IndiaIt's just the bathrooms that are a bit tiny (as is with most hostels in seoul). And the housekeeping didn't replace the toilet paper while i was there ( i didn't inform them either). Need more space or hooks for towels and clothes when you're showering.
It's right in the middle of the bustling Myeongdong chaos. Near all the food joints, pubs, shopping, convenience stores. And a short walk from the subway. So it's convenient with your backpack or even strolling luggage. The beds are wide and really comfy. Staff is helpful and cheerful and the breakfast might be simple, but does the job. (toast, boiled eggs, cereal etc). It's quite worth it

ThailandBreakfast was OK, but not much space to sit for a long period and chat. Room size was ok if you are using it to sleep and clean up (base). Bed was a little on the hard side. But it's down to the individual preference.
The location was perfect. If you are doing day trips, pick-ups are nearby. Eating out in the evening, you had so much choice, and the night market is on your doorstep.
