How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Two lifts to go in and out of the building is a little inconvenient.
Location was in the heart of Insadong. Hotel had convenient facilities such as a washing area etc. Room was clean and tidy. Water regularly supplied to the room.

The overall attention and helpfulness of the staff at the front desk, in the dining room, as well as the cleaning staff. Requests were acted on immediately. Service in English was excellent. The view!

Not that we did not like it, but rather odd to have a bathroom sink in the hallway But this was not an issue.
Great location, helpful staff, lively neighborhood, good size room, good facilities.

Buffet breakfast was not to my taste; mix of western and Asian options but nothing that really grabbed me. Terrible coffee. Only shop I could find that made great coffee at 6am was at https://maps.apple.com/?address=149-4,%20Gye-dong,%20Jongno-gu,%20Seoul,%2003058%20South%20Korea&ll=37.577489,126.986847&q=149-4,%20Gye-dong&t=m . Everywhere else is 7-8am at best.
Great location for tourist destinations like palaces. A lot of eateries nearby and shopping in Insadong. Well organised hotel, good laundry facilities. Small gym. Great locker storage for pre-check-in or post -check-out. Friendly and helpful staff. 6 minute walk to airport bus stop.

I've stayed at this location before and it's absolutely wonderful. The hotel is connected to a shopping complex and just along the backside of the hotel is even more shopping. Lots of street food vendors and a beautiful temple across the street. Buses are easy to come by and an airport limousine is just a 6 min walk from the hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable! They also provide luggage lockers for you to use before check-in and after check-out!

Great location. Rooms are on the smaller side but had everything I needed. Room cleaning available every day if you want, a small but nice perk is the two water bottles they put in the fridge every day. A small thing but much appreciated on hot humid days.

I loved how the location was so close to many of the public transportation options as well as the mall. It was very convenient to get around the city from the hotel.

It would have been good to have been provided with directions to find the hotel as we were a little confused initially but managed to find the signs eventually. After 10pm, we did not realise that we could not access the hotel from the escalators or lift near Insadong-gil
It was in a very convenient location. We arrived early and the hotel and a free luggage storage facility for us to use which was really good. The room was really clean and modern. Bed was comfortable. There were great tea making facilities in the room and the ensuite bathroom was spacious and lovely.

As a female solo traveler to Seoul for the first time, my priorities were for a clean, safe, basic hotel with good facilities in a great location close to public transport (subway and buses). Right next to Insadong Street and you can walk to Myeondong. I felt safe, it was in a quiet-ish area. A shopping mall is attached to the hotel so you are close to necessities and finally this hotel is excellent value for money. Oh and they have storage lockers for your luggage if your flight is well past your check out (my flight was 10pm and I stored my luggage free in their lockers until 6pm and enjoyed my last day in Seoul).

My only complaint is the tub/shower. It iwas an extremely steep and difficult step into the tub for a senior. I was afraid of slipping.
We had the 3 person room for the two of us. It was very spacious with 2 toilets.

Love this hotel, my second time staying here. Such nice staff who speak perfect English, helped me get a taxi on check-out and there are some really efficient lockers for keeping luggage for the day too, can use as many lockers as you need! Beds were really comfy, room super clean and cleaned every day. I had an amazing view of the Jogyesa temple this time too but didn't pay for a temple view room!

Hotel to provide ceramic cups for tea/coffee.

I thought there would be kitchens or at least a kitchenette however that was not the case. I made the best of it, but everything was great. The bed was comfortable. I love that there was a bidet which is great, but what was a bit disappointing for me was that the staff wasn’t that friendly. I had to carry my own luggages (I had 4 large ones) in a cart by myself, when I asked them if there was a Bell man or someone to help me carry my luggage they just pointed to the cart and said you could use those but return it when you’re done In addition they weren’t that helpful in the restaurant upstairs. I asked if I could take my food or take a drink to go and have it in my room and they refused. So even though I thought my roommate, Self was comfortable, but just trying to operate around the hotel wasn’t that convenient for me? I wasn’t allowed to take my food into my room. I can only have a drink at the bar and not at a table. On top of that, I’m on the treadmill and some weights and that’s basically it. The pictures that I saw online made it seem a lot bigger like it had more equipment.
The property was in a great location very nice area in the middle of everything. This is your standard hotel room.
