How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood design of rooms and hotel as whole. Rooms very nice, small and introverted. Breakfast OK, continental. Location close to centre and central sights and bus station as well.

Verified reviewIdeally placed next to the bus terminal, next to bus station with direct bus to the train station, right next to the parks. The rooms are cozy, the bathroom is big, clean and well functionung, the staff is very nice. The alley from the bus terminal can look shady, but actually it was safe late at night. The complementary breakfast was well appreciated, simple, but with everything to get you going for the day.
Nothing actually.

Verified reviewWe had a great stay at Y Collection by Unbound in Gyeongju. The location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from the intercity bus terminal, so it was very easy to reach the hotel without even needing a taxi. It’s also within walking distance of many of the must-visit places in Gyeongju, which made exploring the city very convenient. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and modern, with a minimalist and zen design that felt very pleasant. The American breakfast was simple but good, just right to start the day. Overall, a very convenient and relaxing place to stay in Gyeongju.

Verified reviewLoved the minimalist design. The location was great next to the bus terminal. Simple breakfast was adequate to start the day.
A couple of little wooden stools to sit on in the room would have been great.

Verified reviewIt is as strange as the Booking pictures imply About 4/5 of the room is some elevated, one side open, "show room". The left side is a floor to ceiling cabinet wall, with a large flat screen in the middle, some bookshelves, with some books and vases, a wardrobe, a hidden kettle on a sliding board with some complimentary instant coffee, tea, a hidden fridge, the lower side boarded with a double matress for most of the length and width, the right side a head board and then the upper part clinker, the "ceiling and back-wall", the later with some large curtained "porthole" (the window is to be found behind the curtains), in veneer finish like all around, All with lots of indirect light. The front fifth was white, stained all around, with some black, worn, cheap, industrian carpet and an artificial flower bed in the right corner. The elevated bathroom was newly renovated, clean and state of the art. The small short floor is set lower than bath- and main room and was stained up to waist level as well.
The staircase and as described above the front of the room and the floor were stained, the cheap industrial carpet worn. The room was not once made in the three days we stayed. The lights are all centrally controlled from a panel the left front of the cabinet wall which is absolutely inconvenient. The aircon, which at first seemed to work fine, did not manage to keep the set temperature at night and the air was getting cold/hot and humid on top, so it was getting very uncomfortable. The bedding was damp after two days. Worst was the breakfeast setting. The selecting was minimalistic and the quality poor. The table cloth was heavily stained and cannot have been changed for days. The bowls on the table the same. My wife even found mould on the bottom of the cherry tomato bowl. Imaginining how the coffee machine might be looking inside made me nearly throw up. There were spider webs in the decoration of the breakfeast room and a beamer played European sceneries the whole time. The two guys that were seen only behind the counter or outside smoking seamed totally detached of running a hotel. We can definitely not recommend to stay in this place.

Verified reviewThe hotel is nice, with an amazing location. Walking distance to many attractions and to the bus terminal.
The room was very small so all the walls were dirty from the luggage. Also consider that it has no elevator.

Verified reviewI really liked the location—it’s close to a bus stop that’s convenient when arriving from the train station, and the old town is within easy walking distance. The rooms were also stylish and had a nice design aesthetic.
The check-in process was a bit unusual. Access to the hotel and the room (not for dropping off luggage) is limited to a narrow window between 16:00 and 17:30. It would be helpful if this could be more flexible or clearly communicated in advance. The room itself was generally fine, but the walls had some visible marks—likely from luggage touching the wall—left by previous guests. These could probably be cleaned with a bit of soap and water, so a little extra attention to cleaning would improve the overall impression.

Verified reviewLocation. Easy access to buses to see places.
No elevator. You have to carry your suitcases. Wash basin is leaking from the drain to the bathroom floor. The check in time is late, 4pm. The staff who barely speak English would not let you check in if you arrived half hr early. Check in finishes at 5:30pm which is ridiculous.

Verified reviewGreat location; close to the bus stop if arriving into Gyeongju by train (and using buses around the city), and close to ITX bus terminals. Walking distance to the centre of the town, and main attractions. Tucked away so it's not noisy. Good quality toiletries are provided, including toothbrush and toothpaste. Was nice to have a breakfast included, even if super simple: cereal, yoghurt, toast. The staff were pretty attentive in ensuring that things were replenished. (it did start a bit late though) Not awful, but not great for the price.
To summarise: cleanliness and staff. Had an issue with the sink in my room upon arrival: the waste pipe was literally disconnected from the sink so water was going all over the bathroom. I tried to fix it myself but just "sticking it back on" without a fresh o-ring or nut just resulted in it slipping off so I waited to tell reception next day. Reception staff came by and they did exactly what I did initially and said it was fixed, when clearly the pipe was not on tight enough to stay on. Due to the language barrier it wasn't possible to communicate that it wasn't enough and the guy was happy with the "job" he did so I just left it, knowing I was staying for a short time, and limited my use of the sink (and made sure I tightened or even held the pipe in place when using it). A bit more effort and thinking would have been nice, or better communication with staff. The design of the rooms is pretty cool, but the details like the corners with fake planters are awful when you look up close since they're full of dust and hair. Generally the carpets, wood etc look cheap up close too - and the books all over the place are fake, which is sad but a perfect summary of this place. One of the mugs in my room was dirty, so cleanliness gets a minus point there for not replacing between guests.

Verified reviewLocation is good. It’s walkable to the main sights and the bus stop for the high speed rail. I found it good value for the price although with some drawbacks.
The photos definitely looked a lot better than the place in real life. Not that it is bad looking (nice design) but it seems kind of built cheap. Using fake wood and cost efficient material that show wear and tear quickly. Space could be an issue for 2 people travelling with 2 bags. The other thing that I didn’t like was the 9 o’clock breakfast start time. One day I had to skip completely, second day rush as I had to catch a bus. The breakfast is free (can’t fault that) but you will find better coffee and pastries anyway nearby. So it’s not like you are missing a lot. The staff doesn’t seem to speak much English and reception is not staffed after 1730.
