Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Khemrak and Sreyleak were amazing hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed. They provided a list of things to do, where to buy my Angkor Wat tickets, had a bike for me to rent, a great self prepared breakfast, lots of water... Etc They even got up at 4:30 in the morning to make sure I had everything I needed to start my day off as I set off to watch the sunrise. Most importantly, they were fun to hang out with. Yes, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. And the outdoors was full of beautiful greenery.

United KingdomNothing, although be prepared for a few cockerels which can be heard nearby, but it’s part of the charm!
Peaceful location away from tourist area in central town but well located for Ankor Wat and other attractions. Hosts made excellent recommendations for trips and were happy to help with arranging transport when required. They organised circus tickets for us which is a ‘must-do’ not only for the acrobats and actors but for the music too which is live and excellent.

I stayed for 4 nights at The Purple House in Siem Reap. From the time I arrived until my departure I was treated by my hosts like one of the family. The location is a few kilometers away from the city centre but an easy tuk tuk or bicycle ride away from city centre and the Angkor Wat temple. The room was very clean and spacious and equipped with everything one would need during their stay in Siem Reap. I highly recommend The Purple House to anyone planning to visit and stay in Siem Reap.

GermanyBefore we even arrived we felt like we’re about to visit friends and our stay for sure felt like that! Cosy village outside the bustle of Siem Reap - which is still easily accessible by tuktuk if you want to explore and learn about the region/country’s history and very close to Angkor Wat temples. The Purple House was our tranquil home to relax and recharge after exploring both, the city and temples.

After a few days in very busy Phnom Penh it was lovely to be in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Khemrak and family made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed a fun and informative evening out in Siem Reap with them as well as a delicious and plentiful breakfast. The room was clean and spacious with private bathroom, air conditioning and fans, fridge, kettle etc.. We enjoyed walking in the local area (also walkable to the Apopo Hero Rats visitor centre – highly recommend) and Khemrak called tuk tuks to pick us up whenever we needed one and arranged our transfer to the airport. Whilst we were kept busy visiting the incredible Ankor Wat, exploring Siem Reap and other attractions, we also enjoyed unwinding at Purple House and discovering more about Khmer and Cambodian history, traditions and people. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.

United StatesThere is so much to like about this property: location right in between Siem Reap and Angkor Wat; property manager/owner (Khemrak)is truly other-center, generous, and kind; room is big and spotless. Celebrated New Year with Khemrak family. I was also treated to a delicious Khmer meal.

CanadaA little far out of town center but it was easy to arrange for tuk tuk rides. One evening it was a little loud with music but that stopped about 10 pm so It was all good.
Room was very clean and had everything I needed. The owners were very helpful and always checked in with me to make sure I had everything I needed. They also arranged all my tuk tuks and even took me to the sunrise temple tour for 5:45 am. Very good hosts.

Cambodiabreakfast included was excellent, choice of western style food, cereals, toast, coffee and fruit supplied with the room or could buy traditional and cheap Cambodian breakfast food from a nearby restaurant. Quite often ate with our hosts also, which was really good as they were very nice and informative of what to see and do in Cambodia and also took care of some of the advice and arrangements for exploring for us. Loved everything about the accomodation, the rooms were a spacious 27m2 size and extremely clean and comfortable. Air-conditioned and each with own bathroom facilities, very western style. The bonus was the large verandah outdoor area overlooking the lush green gardens, a cool and comfortable place to relax with a book on wet days or to come home to at the end of each day for drinks and conversation. Located in a quiet local area on the outskirts of town, but only a few kilometres from the temples area and a short 10 minute tuk tuk taxi ride to the centre of the town markets and Pub Street. We enjoyed our stay here, ended up for 10 days while we explored as much as possible of Siem Reap city and its historical scenery and surrounds, recommend this place for a short term stay of a few days or for however long you wish as our hosts took care of our stuff while we were away, very safe and secure area.

This place is a gem! Khemrak and Sreyleak have thought of everything to make these simple but comfortable rooms perfect. Quiet location, close to temples and an easy tuk-tuk ride to the city centre. We particularly loved the generous self- catering supplies for breakfast and the thoughtful homely touches. Our hosts were a wealth of information and insights into the needs of foreign travellers like us! Thankyou- we will be back!

HungaryOur hosts, Khemrak and Sreyleak were so friendly, they told us so many things about Cambodia, the history, the culture and they were our guide regarding what to see in the town. They can help you in everything, picking up, and dropping off at the airport, arranging tuktuk to AngkorWhat. And the driver is gentleman, he took care of us while we made the tours to the temples. We felt like friends with them and we spent a lot of time together. It was an incredible experience, we'll never forget. Next time in Cambodia we definitely gonna stay here. Love you Khem and Lea, one of the nicest people in the world.

GermanyIf we have to write something "bad" the only thing is, that you cannot go out and find a cafe around that place. But you have all things you need in the room and for small money you are very fast in town. With that Pass-App it's quite easy to get a Tuk-Tuk. So what.....
We liked the place very much so we decided to come back after our tour through Cambodia for another five nights. The owners Khemrak and Sreyleak are very friendly, professional and helpful. You like to have a plan for a tour? They know and plan. You need something? They help. You need a Tuk-Tuk driver for templetour? They know good drivers. They know a lot of about Cambodia, the history, the temples and what else. Once we made a trekkingtour with them. It was a very beautiful day. The room is big enough for two people and luggage. We found everything we need. AC/waterboiler/fridge/toaster and a lot of things for the first morning. Outside we had a table and chairs with the view onto the garden and the mangotrees. We love the place and will join again next holiday.
