Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceMaybe it would be great to put a small sign with a arrow to indicate where is it because we struggle to find it at night.
Sok Phen is adorable and very helpful, the house is independent with balcony and AC which is very appreciated in this heat. The place is a bit out of downtown which means that you have to necessarily take tuk tuk but Sok Phen arrange everything for you.

AustraliaI had no issues or dissatisfaction in any kind of way
The homestay is in a cute neighborhood 10mins away from the city center, which makes it quiet and relaxing without traffic noise. Sok Phen and his family and staff makes you feel very welcomed anytime, they looked after me and organized transport when I needed and were very helpful, warm and kind. The bungalow was clean with a homely flair and very comfy big bed and a cosy porch, I didn’t miss anything. Great value for the price and amazing always smiling staff, I would always book again!

NetherlandsMr Sok Phen and his family welcome you with a warm heart. The Khmer house has everything you need in a rustic and green environment. By staying their you support them as well as the community as Mr Sok Phen goes out of is way to provide fair employment to villagers. Their coffee and breakfast are outstanding! Location is perfect as well, close to the Ankor Wat and there are always tuk tuk drivers stand by.

United KingdomWhat was annoying, (not their fault) was that I had to go across the city to the government buildings to buy a ticket to get into the temples which was 32 dollars for one day or 64 for two. I thought it was quite expensive. The room was very basic ie the shower was not too good but any faults seemed to be wiped away by the lovely vibe and quietness, that is until his neighbours were getting married and suddenly there was loud thumping music for two whole days until late. This ruined the quietness but it was not their fault.
The breakfast was very basic with just bread, egg and bananas but it was better than having to eat noodles. The boss was really hard worker and so friendly, I really loved his whole family. Like people say, it is NOT a five star hotel and just a hut on stilts but there was something so nice and relaxing about it. I sat out on the balcony amidst the lush trees and palms, just relaxed. I chose the place as on the map it seemed to be close to the temples. They had a tuk tuk driver working for them and he would hang around while you went shopping or he took me to all the temples all day for 15 dollars. He was a very sweet man, as were the owner, his wife and children.

He is very kind and can help you for everything you need, such as reaching the city center or Angkor Wat by tuk tuk. He speaks a good English and you would like spending some time talking with him. United KingdomSok Phen and his team were amazing hosts. From the day we arrived until the day we left we felt that they helped provide us with everything we needed. They planned our full Angkor experience and our driver Mr Lao was excellent. Sok Phen let us borrow his bikes for the day, his wife cooked us dinner brought to our room and they prepared us breakfast and coffee. We loved staying in the traditional Khmer accommodation and so close to the Angkor temples.

IndiaMr Sokphen is an excellent and friendly host. He made our stay very welcoming. He picked us from the airport after request through the website for a fee. The location of the property is about 2 kilometers from town center. This was the only downside of the property but this was well compensated by the fact that Mr Sok Phen arranged the transport - sometimes tuk tuk and sometimes car for going to the town centre - sometimes for free. He also know well about the hotels that provide tasty food as well as being cheaper then the rest. He was well informed about the area - information that we may not get if we stay in a big hotel. He arranged for guides as well to take us around. The property was very quiet to take rest after a long day visiting the sites. Overall we enjoyed the stay and will stay at the same property when we visit the place.

Staying here, I was treated as a valued family member. It both provides an authentic view of the actual life of people in Cambodia while its close proximity to the center of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat (and the free transport provided to the city center and back) enabled me to easily visit all the tourist spots as well. If you want to deepen your knowledge of Cambodia through experiences that will stick with you forever, this is the place for you.

United KingdomSok Phen and his family are such lovely people who will do absolutely anything for you without expecting anything in return. He arranged our itinerary and made sure we were comfortable, suggesting where we should visit to maximise our time in Siem Reap. Thank you to Oeurt (our Tuk Tuk driver) for showing us the best sites in the area. The location of the home stay is very close to the temples which is so convenient. We had breakfast and coffee made for us every morning which was unexpected but much appreciated. On the last day Sok Phen made us a delicious home cooked meal which was just what we needed after a busy day. If you are looking to experience a little bit of village life then you should stay here. Embrace it for what it is. Don’t turn up expecting hotel style accommodation as this is not what a home stay is. The room was clean and we had everything we needed. Thank you to Sok Phen, IT, and his family for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back one day.

AustraliaNever mastered the A/C. (Too much or too little - Still, so glad it was there) A smaller (bed-side?) light/lamp would have been good. Nothing else to complain about.
For a retreat from busy streets and an alternative to Pub Street, this place is perfect. So quiet and peaceful - for rest and recuperation after exploring the nearby Angkor Wat and beyond. Phen and his family were very friendly and provided lovely dinners. (Beautiful chicken soup and rice the day when I wasn't feeling well). So thoughtful and kind. Phen always on hand to provide advice about getting around, tour guides, trips, and to provide breakfast in the morning - ready when you are. (Good Coffee!) A tuk-tuk seemingly always available was great. - The City Centre and Angkor Wat both short rides away. A unique experience, a unique memory.

MauritiusWell organized trips ! We had a wonderful time. They treated us like family. After picking us up at the airport, our driver Oeurte swapped his car into a Tuktuk to guide us to a Angkor Wat for a whole day starting at 04:30! Great coffee in the morning was repaired by Mr Sok Phen himself. We were lucky enough to taste Mrs Sok Phen’s chicken with coconut oil, delicious!
