How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe appreciated the fact that this hotel is located a little behind the main strip, reducing noise & giving my wife & I a more peaceful stay. It was also very clean & good value. The receptionist was super kind & helpful whenever we needed anything. This guest house is just 1 or 2 minutes walk to the beach with plenty of shops, restaurants & pharmacies nearby.
Everything was good. We highly recommend this hotel.

The toilet leaked, the room wasn’t cleaned in the whole time we stayed which was 4 nights and considering you have to put used toilet roll in an open bin it wasn’t great.

Verified reviewThe staff were very friendly and helpful and this is one of the only places on the island with AC! Good location too
Unfortunately the room wasn’t the cleanest and it was quite dated. It felt a little dirty and the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay so it just ended up feeling dirtier as time went on. The bathroom was also quite dark and dingy.

Verified reviewReally close to the main pier and different shops and restaurants. Nice and easygoing host. Good aircon. Wifi worked well. Beautiful lobby. Okay place to stay if you are on budget.
Bathroom needs a little more cleaning. There was no hot water during our stay.

Verified reviewKoh Rong itself is very run down so this Guesthouse is a situation of one of the 'best' the out the bad lot. The room was average size, bed was fine and the rooms had AC.
Front of house had a bad smell of body odour. He showed us to our first room, we did a quick check of the room and bathroom and true to previous reviews the bathroom was dirty, dried urine on the toilet, mould on bathroom blind and AC was not working. The host then gave us a new room, same again, checked the bathroom and the same thing, asked for a cleaner to clean the toilet which involved her drenching everywhere with the toilet hose and still leaving the urine on the toilet bowl. Pure laziness and zero hygiene. Also there was no one at the desk for checkout at 0830 (They also sneakily have a sign saying $5 charge for late check out after 1000am) So if you're ferry isn't until 1pm be cautious of that.

Verified reviewWe moved here after a bad stay at a hostel, and really good value for money with a double bed each and en-suite bathroom. It was a great location as well in Koh Touch as much more going on in this area of the island.
The bed sheets and towels were cleaned but very stained which was slightly unnerving. Also the bathroom could have done with some upkeep as very basic and smelt damp.

Verified reviewQuiet quaint guesthouse, perfectly located 5min walk up a slight hill from the main strip. drinking water fountain which we loved to fill up our bottles and staff were friendly and let us store our luggage after check out. Fridge and air con in our room which was great when the power was on.
A few power cuts but that happens all over the island and nothing which can be done about it

it was a sh!th0le, lads and ladies im being serious dont go here. stinks of ciggy smoke, damaged furniture everywhere, room wasnt cleaned, floor was extremely dirty and sandy. bed felt like someone had eaten toast in it for a week prior to our stay. water pressure in the shower would be a compliment to call it a dribble( a cold one ). worst place on our trip and we stayed in some skanky hostel lol.

Verified reviewAfter reading all the horror reviews for bug infested rooms for pretty much all hotels in Koh Rong, I was really worried what to expect on the island. Fortunately, this accommodation was clean and well managed. The room could be closed completely so no mosquitoes or crawlies could get inside. Air conditioning was working well. Overall highly recommended if you are worried about bugs just like I was. Also they don't have rooms on the ground floor. TIP: get the bigger room even if you are traveling alone. The comfort and additional space is well worth it.
