Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe mattress was a little too soft for me but maybe others like that. One small complaint is that the shower never really got warm but since the weather was hot I did not really mind. I never asked the staff about it and if I did they probably could have solved the problem.
The location was great. Room and building beautiful. Very, very clean. The staff were wonderful: helpful and friendly. Breakfast was extra but it was very good.

CambodiaHowever, this time i heard loud music coming from neighboring pub or bar? Owner might want to double check where that loud music was coming from, because it does not help to sleep well and fast.
Great location, as always. Thank you again Sovat for the support during my stay.

United StatesI stayed five nights and for the most part it was nice and quiet, but some of the other people staying on Friday night did not pay attention to the “Please Be Quiet” signs at 4am Saturday morning (when they were getting up to go see sunrise at Angkor Wat), so they woke me up—even with earplugs. But that was just a couple of rude guests, not the fault of Le Water Villa.
My room was comfortable with a big bed and a little refrigerator (so I could come “home” after a hot day to a chilled drink!). The location was nice because it was just around the corner from a place that sells ice cream and icea tea drinks—and it was just down the street from a fantastic Mexican restaurant called “Maybe Later”! The young man (“Sovat”) and young woman (I didn’t get her name) at the front desk were very helpful! They helped me with renting a motorbike at a good price, and lent me a smaller umbrella than the big unwieldy one I had brought with me—very helpful!

ItalyThey should revise their breakfast policy. Although they claim breakfast is available from 6:30 AM, staff actually tell you to come at 7:00 AM because no one is there to prepare it earlier. This wouldn’t be an issue if it weren’t for the fact that most tours to Angkor depart early in the morning, making it important to have breakfast on time. In our case, breakfast was consistently served late.
Very nice hotel, well located within the city—very close to a supermarket, places to eat, and a money changer. The included breakfast is a great added value, and the room was clean and spacious.

SingaporeOur stay at Le Water Villa was just average. We booked a Deluxe Twin room and were given one on the highest floor (3rd floor), but there’s no elevator, so we had to climb the stairs. Thankfully, the receptionist boy helped carry our bags up and down, which was much appreciated. The air conditioning wasn’t very cooling, even at the lowest temperature, and the nights were a bit noisy. Location-wise, it’s quite convenient—tuk-tuks are always around, and it’s close to Pub Street and the night market, so there’s plenty to see and eat. We were mostly out during the day, so the stay was fine for two nights. However, on our last morning, there was a power outage in the whole area. Luckily, we were ready to leave, but it didn’t seem like the hotel had a generator, which would have been rough at night with no aircon. Some things felt a bit off—when we checked in, we were told the TV didn’t work, and there were no bathrobes or safety deposit boxes despite what was listed on Booking.com. The twin beds and pillows were large and comfortable, but the towels had holes. The bathroom setup wasn’t great either—no shower curtain, so everything (including the toilet paper sitting on the tank) got wet. Also, the second-floor balcony door was left open most of the time, which meant plenty of mosquitoes inside. If you want tea, you have to ask, as only coffee sachets are provided by default. Overall, this place is okay if you just need a basic stay and plan to be out all day. It has more of a hostel feel than a hotel, so keep that in mind.

AustraliaThe tv didn't have TV stations.
Big comfortable room with good AC, nice hot shower. Staff were helpful, especially Sovat and Patrick. And they got me a nice tuktuk driver Mr Morn who took me around all the temples. The location was perfect to go to pub street in 5 minutes, but also in a little hipster area with nice cafes and craft stores on the doorstep.
