I got a lot of bites during the night. Don't know if bed bugs or flying insects. No towel provided. Very hard to communicate with staff but we sorted my requests except a towel which he didn't understand. I would have rated higher except for the inchy bites.

Close to bus station. Staff pointed out a good restaurant. Staff took my suitcase up and down the stairs. It was inexpensive and a place to sleep for early morning departure on bus nearby. I was willing to pay for room with air conditioner but it had a strong bathroom/drain smell. My room had a fan.

To be honest we were staying in cheap hotels to save money as we were travelling for a long time. But after staying here, we felt like going home, so we decided to up our budget and do nicer hotels. There wasn't even any toilet roll, lol. But if money is tight, it will do just to sleep in.

I'm not sure if Grand View is in the midst of renovations—it certainly looks that way from all the rubble around it, but either way, the place is in serious need of upkeep. One of the first things to note is that there is no AC in the building, so unless you feel comfortable with just a (broken) fan in 37° heat, you will suffer, as I did. The bathroom is so tiny, the door cannot fully open, so if you are a bigger person, you will struggle to move around, possibly even to sit on the toilet. Be prepared to stay in rooms that don't appear to have been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The guest house does not offer guests filtered water, so you will have to purchase it in bottles. I could go on, but ultimately, I would not recommend anyone to stay at Grand View until the place has had a proper makeover.

While I have many positive things to say about the staff, how friendly and helpful they were, unfortunately, this does not make up for how crappy this accommodation is, overall 😕

We came in during the night as our train got in late. The building and area was dark, unsafe and we felt very uncomfortable. The bed had cigarette burn holes all over it, no blanket provided, and our door was able to be locked from outside.

Horrible location, at the end of a dark alley with countless cockroaches. The room itself was dirty, along with the bathroom. There were black marks all over the wall and ceiling which looked like bug nests. The blanket was gross too.

Our room was very dirty and we expected more for the price we paid as it was not that cheap, it was the worst toilet we have had on our 4 month travel through Asia, and the view is definitely not as “grand” as advertised

There was no blanket, and the fan couldn’t be directed toward the inner part of the bed, even though it was very hot. There was construction work going on in or next to the hotel (it wasn’t really clear), and the noise started early in the morning. We got a very small room, and there was a sewer smell coming from the tiny toilet-shower.

It was possible to rent a motorbike on-site, and after they adjusted the brakes at my request, I got the best-condition motorbike I had rented so far during my four-month trip in Asia.
