Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCozy family run homestay. Located a few minutes walk out of town, i enjoyed the walk along the river through a residential area, getting to see a local area on the way to town. Locals are very friendly with basically all the children saying hello and some adults too, as you walk. The room and bed were comfortable, with a fan and mosquito net. Shower and toilets were some of the nicest and cleanest I encountered in Cambodia.

United KingdomThat I couldn’t stay longer
Cannot fault this guesthouse. Sohky went out of his way to make me feel welcome from the moment I got to his beautiful home, to the moment I left. His family and staff were equally as hospitable 🤍 You are in a ‘dorm’ but have your very own private little bedroom, sectioned off my curtains and screens, that is well equipped with a mosquito net, fan, hanging rack, locked drawer and a towel. The facilities were clean, tidy, and full of special little touches, including lots of beautiful hanging plants in the courtyard, a basket in the bedroom with a help-yourself first-aid kit and a glass water bottle and glass on the bedside table to fill with free drinking water. Things that you would expect to find in rooms that you would pay far more than £4 a night for! There are bicycles to rent if needed but also the walk into town from the guesthouse runs along the Mekong river and is very picturesque. I will recommend this accommodation to any friends who are visiting Kratie and if I ever visit again, this will be the only option for me :)))

The family are so nice and helpful for everything you need. You’re not in the “city center” of Kratie but the neighborhood is amazing all the neighbors are so nice and welcoming! United StatesEven without ac this was an incredible homestay. The people are so nice and have great recommendations. The beds were very comfortable and I enjoyed renting bikes and pedaling into the center. There are lots of places to relax in hammocks after a long day of dolphin watching. It was such a relaxing place, I wish I stayed longer.

BelgiumThe mesh of the hammocks was quite uncomfortable, maybe that could be improved. I booked a minibus to Siem Reap with a local agency recommended by the homestay, but I would not recommend it. The driver attached the bags very loosely at the back of the car, so I was afraid the whole trip that it would fall, and on top of that it rained on it. He simply ignored me when I tried to communicate with him (asking at a stop if I could go to the toilet), and he dropped me outside the city centre even though I saw him continue in that direction after (and no, it wasn’t because I was being difficult, I had not complained ;) ).
Beautiful house located in a quiet neighbourhood, with the Mekong directly on the other side of the red dirt road, so very charming. The dorm room had a comfortable bed with mosquito net and fan. Breakfast (as extra) was delicious. The owner was nice and helpful.

GermanyAs mentioned it's a bit of a walk, but it feels safe, and it's easy to rent a scooter, tuk tuk or pushbike if that's a concern.
The place is lovely, as others have said the dormitory beds feel like private rooms and the bed was one of the more comfortable I've come across in cambodia. The family running the property were lovely and welcoming. Its a bit of a jog from town, but not so far out that you really notice it. For the price it's a bargain. Regardless of price it's a wonderful experience. Nice, clean, I'd stay again any time I was in the area.

CanadaThere are lots of dogs and roosters in the area, so I was woken between 3:30 and 4:30 am every day by roosters and often tried to fall asleep hearing barking dogs. No fault of the host though. Bring earplugs.
Host spoke good English and was extremely helpful in tracking down a bag of laundry that was left behind on one of the rides he helped me book to my next location. He continued to assist even 2 days after I had left. Lots of hammocks to relax in and a fan in each room. The dormitory is partitioned between each bed with bamboo screens and curtains across the front. There is a locking drawer in the side table for valuables.Breakfast was delicious and very fresh. Toilet and shower areas were immaculate at all times. The Mekong River is across the road, so be sure to catch a sunset. Bicycles available to rent to get into town.

SloveniaThis was hands down the best homestay of my one month trip around Cambodia! Brand new; it is clear that the owner put so much thought and effort into this project. The dorms feel more like a private room, with big curtains all around to provide privacy. A little cupboard with a drawer and a key for your valuables. Plenty of space for your backpack, and since there is no air conditioning because of the design of the house, each bed has a fan! The bathroom and shower downstairs were always clean, toilet paper was always available and there was even shampoo and shower gel to use. They offer a nice variety of breakfast/drink options which are budget friendly, and another big plus is that there is free water refill. Since the Guesthouse is a little further away from the city centre, they offer bicycle rental, which is a great way to explore Kratié. There is a nice social area with a bunch of hammocks and a few tables! Some snacks are also available, but there are also stores nearby. The owner and his wife were super nice and helpful, were always available for questions and helped me get a tuktuk when I was leaving. Would definitely recommend this lovely homestay for a nice quiet getaway in Kratié!🙏

SpainSome of the guest were annoying during night time making phone calls in the shared room. Since there are no walls separating each room, but curtains. People should be more conscious that they are not alone in the world. That’s not a problem of the guest house but of the rude people around
The place was beautiful and cozy. The family is very sweet and helpful and he speaks a very good English! I would definitively come back. The shared room has the feeling of a private room because with the curtains it’s like you have your own space at all times
