Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStaff were unfailingly welcoming, helpful and keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are set in lush gardens and pools, and it feels like an oasis and yet is just a few minutes' walk from the bustling activity of Siem Reap's restaurants, bars, riverfront cafes and the inevitable 'Pub Street'. Food was good and excellent value, with delightful staff. The treatments (apart from a somewhat underwhelming facial) were similarly amazing value and professionally adapted to the individual. The Khmer Massage is particularly recommended.

United StatesWiFi was spotty, with the network often dropping, so you have to catch it at the right time.
Service from the staff were all top-notch, including the front desk, housekeeping, breakfast and spa staff. The location is in a central part of the city while still being its quiet oasis. The grounds and rooms are beautifully laid out.

FranceThe only negative thing is that the air conditioning system is a bit old and noisy.
We loved everything: very charming hotel, exquisite decoration, great location … Restaurant is also very good and cheaper than some fancy places outside the hotel. Excellent breakfast. Above all, the staff is just perfect: extremely professional, always ready to help and so smiley. Good quality of guide and driver provided by the hotel for our visits. This hotel is the best place to stay to visit Angkor sites.

SwitzerlandThe dinner + traditional dance show in the nearby theatre was a bit below our expectations (the show was very nice, but the dinner was not).
The hotel is very charming and in an excellent location. The traditional-type rooms are extremely comfortable. The travel-agency of the hotel deserves a special mention: they organised a 3-day private tour, according to our wishes, which was truly excellent.

An oasis in the middle of the city center!! The hotel is located in a busy old town area, yet, the moment you step into the hotel, you are transported into a paradise. We didn't feel we were in a busy area at all. The hotel is amazing, staff was very friendly and attentive. We used all the facilities and services - spas, laundry, restaurants, swimming pool and were very happy with every one of them. It was absolutely a wonderful stay.

United KingdomIt would be better if the hot breakfast was a buffet. It is cooked separately so you can’t control how it comes out. Staff were helpful and amended things if needed but it’s the only thing I can think of that we felt detracted from the quality of this excellent hotel.
Beautiful small hotel. A little oasis in the city. Great pool, cool rooms.

United StatesThe property is so beautiful! The restaurant sat like an island around the water and the plants throughout the property made it feel like you were surrounded by nature. It was so peaceful at night having dinner even in the rain! The staff was so helpful and booked my private tours and drivers for the days I was there, I only needed to let them know what I wanted to see. The location was very central and I was able to walk or get a Tuk Tuk to get around the city. The massages were also excellent! I have told my friends to stay at Angkor Village Hotel if they visit!

We stayed with the family (2 adults, 4 children) for five nights and had a phantastic time! Super centrally located, yet a very calm oasis! Super friendly and helpful staff who helped to organize the visits to the temples and Tonle Sap. Very nice and large rooms with great showers and nicely decorated. The pool was also very nice and a welcoming (and necessary) cooling-off opportunity after the excursions. Very good restaurant also, breakfast was phantastic as well! We hope to have the opportunity to visit again!

SwedenWonderful hotel with true luxury. Every aspect of the hotel’s service from check-in, to turn down service and everything in between, is done to perfection and with that little extra touch of thoughtfulness. The hotel is beautiful and spotless, food is excellent and swiftly provided. The highlight is the staff, who are show great training but also inject their personality and warmth to the service. They are proactive and attentive, but not at all invasive. Whenever you need them it is as if they magically appear. If you are coming for the temples we highly recommend the private tours offered by the hotel. They provided us with Em, an excellent guide, who knew everything about the temples and also gave us great insights to the modern history and contemporary society of Cambodia. The hotel provided the driver, who kept us refreshed with water and cold towels (much appreciated, after climbing up the steep steps of Angkor Wat!). We had a 3-day tour and Em planned and paced it beautifully, so that we visited 20 (!) temples in three days but without being exhausted or (totally) overwhelmed by the experience. Visiting the more remote temples in Koh Ker is absolutely recommended as they are stunning, serene places. Also more visitors by locals giving you a little flavour of local life. In short, come for the temples - stay for the Angkor Village Hotel!

CanadaThere was a section of the hotel that is undergoing renovations but the overall work was executed outside resting times and with no disruptions to the general services.
The hotel is exactly as described in the webpage and on the photos. The location is excellent because it allows you to walk around and visit temples, schools and other attractions. The private tour we arranged form a company outside the hotel had no issue picking us up and bringing us back. The hotel is right across a theater where there is a dinner and dance show and also is right across the departure point for the Elephant Sanctuary Tour. From our arrival the staff was really focused on delivering an excellent experience for the guests. Everyone goes the extra mile to help. Every time we arrived the staff would greet us with cold water and a cold moist towel to freshen up ourselves. Breakfast was included and was always delicious with lots of choices and big portions.

It was an incredible stay at Angkor Village Hotel in Siem Reap, and I’ve got to give a huge shoutout to Issam, the driver the hotel arranged for me. He took me to five temples, including Angkor Wat, and honestly went above and beyond the whole day. He didn’t just drive—he walked every temple with me, explained the detailed carvings and reliefs, and clearly knew the history inside and out. Super insightful without feeling like a scripted tour guide. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared—always checking in to see how I was doing, and after every stop, he had ice-cold water and a chilled scented towel ready to go. It’s the small details like that for me that makes such a huge difference and impact on my impression of such amazing service. If you’re heading to Siem Reap and staying at Angkor Village, ask for Issam. He is incredibly professional, respectful, and just made the whole experience way more personal and memorable.

SwitzerlandThe swimming pool could benefit from more sunlight. The dense trees are great for shade but it’s also nice to have the sun for longer. Lovely pool area though! The massage therapist I had was not pleasant, leaving the room at one point with no explanation. The massage room has a lot of noise from the road - could be fixed easily with soundproofing.
Totally unique hotel which feels like stepping back into a lost time. Beautifully designed around the ponds and flowing over with tropical plants and cosy lighting. Great cocktails and the sweetest, most charming, most caring staff, led by Sinan. What a place.
