Thought the menu was a bit limited and the food itself was average.

The overall stay was great. Very clean and relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer. My wife and I got massages and they were both excellent!

Would have been nice to have a variety of menu choices as there’s only 1 restaurant and it’s the same menu every night. So maybe an Italian menu/japanese etc so each evening feels different

The food wasn’t the best, they could do with more variety. The cats made noise outside the rooms at night, which wasn’t ideal if you want to get some rest.

Staff was very very slow, friendly but too slow. We have to ask multiple times for things and the service in general should have been better because we seemed to be the only guests for a day. The beds are not good, we did not sleep too well, the AC was not strong enough, we had to ask for a fan. The breakfast was not to a 5 star hotel level in my opinion and the cost for the massages was insane. I would have loved a massage but a message in the middle of Africa for over 11k KES (around 80 EUR) is like European prices.

We loved the entire layout of the place, it was calm and peaceful, staff was very friendly, sun beds were super comfortable and it was very empty when we were there. We recommend March. The tour to hells kitchen was one of the highlights.

only restaurant open for dinner was at the Lion in the Sun. although the food was absolutely delicious it was quite limited if you stay for a week at the hotel.

the property is stunning. everything is cleaned and neat. the pool, garden, entire property is gorgeous. the short bike ride to the beach is great. the staff are incredible and so friendly.

Lion in the Sun is the sis property of Billionaire Resort! They are very close to each other. Lion in the Sun its more Boutique Boho style and it has the Spa Center on it. Great rooms, amazing pool, Extraordinary staff and Pro Management Team.

We loved our stay, the staff is very professional, the food is spectacular, and they are very flexible. Shuttle services available to take you to the resort whenever you would like. We spent most of our time at the retreat because it was so relaxing and quiet. We also had a pool right outside our room which was a plus! Would definitely go back!

One area they could improve on is evening entertainment. For guests looking for more activities in the evenings, introducing light entertainment options such as live acoustic music, cultural performances, or themed cocktail evenings could enhance the nighttime experience. Creating cozy outdoor movie nights or bonfires with marshmallow roasting could also offer something unique for couples and families.

One of the most impressive aspects of the resort is its remarkable cleanliness. From the moment I arrived, I noticed how flawlessly maintained everything was. The rooms and communal areas sparkled, thanks to the dedicated housekeeping team, who take pride in their work. Every little detail was carefully attended to—beds were perfect, and the outdoor spaces, including the stunning pool areas and gardens, were nothing short of immaculate. Even the beach and poolside, which can often be challenging to keep tidy, were pristine, adding an extra layer of luxury to my experience. It truly felt like a slice of paradise!

Superb setting with stunning communal areas adorned with beautiful scented white flower trees. The rooms were super clean and the staff were truly exceptional and a huge asset to the property. They were most attentive and remained at our disposal throughout the days and nights of our stay. Shiela, Happy,Rosemary and Gakena will live long in our memories of our stay at this oasis. The warmest of smiles and happy to help demeanour will take some beating wherever you stay in the wold. Malindi is a hidden gem and in my opinion this hotel is by far the best in the area. Be sure to try the Hob restaurant which is close by.

The staff hovering to take my plate as soon as I’m done eating felt a bit off to me.

I loved the efficiency and friendliness of the front office team and all the staff. The location is fantastic, and the retreat area is wonderfully serene. I can’t wait to return for a longer stay with friends and family.
