Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeThe ryokan is situated along a steep hill and it can be very challenging if you have big luggage. We took a taxi from and to the train station. Our bathroom and toilet have an unpleasant musty smell, I'm not if it's the drainage or it's some moth balls. There are no laundry hooks or lines to hang your damp clothes. You just have to place them on the 2 chair backs and that's very inconvenient. There's zero view from our room. The bathroom window faces a blank wall of the next building and the backyard is all enclosed. The pillows are flat and uncomfortable.
The staff were really accommodating and polite. We had the same personal service staff who served us both breakfast and dinner. Ms Iswari .. a Nepalese was very very polite and explained all the dishes to us. The Kaiseki dinner was fabulous .. course by course .. there's just so much to eat. The open air bath in our backyard was good though I doubt it's natural spring water.

SingaporeThe price and portion of food was too much for children. They should consider lowering the price and serve a simpler dinner for children.
The Japanese style room and Kaiseiki dinner. The staff help to set up the room for us to sleep while we were having dinner. And the room was made up when we returned after breakfast!

Russia- We booked a room with breakfast and dinner included, there was simply too much food. The amount of food provided left us speechless. We lost count of how many plates we were served and felt a great shame that a lot of it went to waste because we simply couldn't eat that much food. It's 90% seafood, which we are admittedly not big fans of, but still we tried our best and couldn't eat that much. We had to cancel the breakfast and dinner after the second day, felt truly defeated by food for the first time in my life. A lot of effort goes into the presentation too, it looks very elegant. Personally, I would prefer it very much if there was three times less food. - The requirement to take off shoes and leave the key at reception was a hassle, especially in bad weather. Also, the "bigger size" slippers were still small. - The rooms are very big, so we felt like there was space for a bigger bed.
- The hotel is very close to the beach (about 1-2 min walk). The beach is just across the road, but the path down is pretty steep, so be careful. - There are many great places to eat, (we greatly enjoyed "blue nine cafe", "sunbird cafe", "串特急" and "johnathan's") all within a 2-min walk. Atami has a few interesting places to eat, especially if you are a fan of seafood. Blue Nine Cafe is just across the street from the hotel, it has a great atmosphere and exceptionally delicious food and drinks. Sunbird cafe is a small cafe right around the corner with great coffee. 串特急 is your typical yakitori place, we greatly enjoyed the food there. Johnathan's is a Skylark restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea, has a great vibe and open until 23:00. There is a 7/11 within a 2 min walk and a bigger supermarket up on the hill if you have the stamina to climb there. Also check out small snack shops on Heiwadori near the station. - The staff were very friendly and professional. There was a big typhoon during our stay, and the staff were very helpful in providing information regarding train availability, the room cleaning time was flexible and overall we felt welcome. - We really liked the room. We booked the 507 (the "Citrus") room, which was very fun. The hotel has an interesting history related to citrus trees, so we felt like staying in a theme park - the shampoo, body soap, hand soap (both in the room and in onsen), yukata scent, lemonade in the lobby, a small decorative tree in the room - everything was citrus-flavoured, which I guess might be a problem for you if you have allergies. The room itself felt like it was renovated just before we arrived, it had that nice "new furniture" smell. It was also very spacious (40+ m2) by Japanese hotel standards. Sadly, the view wasn't that great, since there is a big building that prevents you from seeing most of the ocean. - The onsen was very cozy.

TaiwanA little bit smoky scent.
1. service: Our flight delayed a lot, but the night shift front desk waited us and treated us nicely. Truly appreciate that. And they reply requests very fast, awesome! 2. room: the room we stayed was huge, the onsen was private so you could enjoy it anytime. I liked tabi they provided. 3. locations: Though hotel was hard to walk to arrive, but took taxi wasn’t expensive, about 770 yen. Convenient stores were nearby, good.
