The hot spring pool is a bit too small indoors as well as outdoors. If the table table game is free it will be good

The location made it hard to get to other places, so it’s easy to get bored

Our twin room and bathroom were very small and somewhat dated. However, it was not enough of a problem to deter us from staying here again.

Although the outside of the building is somewhat worn and old, the lobby and adjacent floors are very impressive. The staff were awesome—very polite and attentive to our every need. The vegetarian dinners were out of this world!

The hotel is next to a very beautiful river. If you're lucky like me, you'll be able to see this river from your room! The rooms come with teas and sweets you can try! I believe you can also order food to your room within certain hours. The futons were comfortable, the yukata were very beautiful, the onsens were gorgeous, and there are so many activities that you can do inside the inn! Like karaoke and golf. I wish I'd stayed long enough to try them. I thought the breakfast was really good as well and that the staff was very kind. Would definitely stay again!

The Tatami-Room with the Kotatsu was amazingly comfortable. The view from the room was amazing and the public bath was breathtaking. There's nothing quite like being in an outside Onsen surrounded by snow in the middle of the night.

An old, established ryokan in a beautiful location in Yamagata Prefecture. The staff were professional and very helpful. On the Sunday, they suggested taking the hotel shuttle to Shinjo as there was space for myself and the friends I was travelling with. Dinner was the norm for a ryokan - local and seasonal delicacies beautifully prepared. Breakfast was buffet style. The onsen baths both had ryotenburo; given the quantity of snow this year, the setting was magical.

Non, all were good for our stay. Just for info, if taking a taxi from Shinjo station to Kansyokan, taxi cost 6000yen.

The dinner menu superb yummy and the services top notch by cheerful ladies. Loved the view from the room while snowing and the massage chair added some relaxing rest. The room spacious and well layout. Hotel did provide bus shuttle to JR train station.

The room was adequate. Bit outdated. Such a shame if you compare it with the entire hotel.

Amazing Onsen resort. Being able to choose Yukata's according to colour and size. Great dinner, especially my biggest gratitude to the elderly waitresses. She recognised me in the morning, and even with the language barrier, she was a great waitress and hospitable company. Onsen was great, especially the outdoor onsen with lots of snow.
