The room we stayed in was amazing and the staff was extremely nice ! Would definitely recommend going there if you are looking for a nice ryokan experience within an affordable price range (compared to other ryokans). Jason was particularly nice and helped us a lot with our suitcases and with our diner booking :)

This place was absolutely amazing. My partner and I visited for part of our honeymoon trip and we loved every second of it. If you do visit via train, you definitely need a taxi from the station as this property is quite secluded. We drove and there was free parking on the property for guests. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We booked in the dinner and breakfast service which was amazing. Our room was clean and cozy with a private outdoor bath. There is also a small guest lounge area where you can take in the mountain views with a cup of coffee which my partner enjoyed.

The place is magic. We recommend it.

The facilities need some maintenance, but the staff is great, the concept is amazing, so, do not discard it this due to this please.

Location was nice and secluded surrounded by nature.

There was no meals offered at the ryokan. This was not clear during booking but they did email me a week before the date to let me know. I was shocked, eating at a ryokan is a big part of the experience. I figured there would be some kind of restaurant nearby but no, absolutely nothing nearby. So we went without dinner and breakfast which was not a good experience. I would have appreciated them warning us to bring our own food since there was nothing available without a 15 min taxi ride. The grounds looked worse than in photos. Many areas are in disrepair and the yard outside of our room was full of weeds. I was surprised at the lack of care. We found a nice little lookout with some chairs but the metal chairs were dirty with no cushions. Typical of the overall experience.

The structure is very beautiful, surrounded by the trees and the river. Relaxing atmosphere, very professional and careful staff. Dinner and breakfast were also really good.

Overall the rooms are old and not well maintained. The fence in our private garden was completely broken, there were abandoned sandbags around the property and in the common baths some wooden parts were rotting. For this price, it should be properly renovated.

Property was quaint and very rustic. Staff were very hospitable and the meals very fantastic. The location is a little difficult to find but overall it was ok. Very beautiful property although some areas are a little old. Overall still a wonderful experience.

We stayed in a cottage close to the river with a little terrace and the surrounding was beautiful. So too are the two small onsens (the best feature of the ryokan) that you can grab (no booking required) so that mixed bathing is possible, which is also the main reason we revisited here after 7 years.

The food, an integral part of the onsen experience, was unremarkable. We may have visited during low season, but the place felt understaffed and slightly run down, and the service was spotty - only one dining room was opened and our room wasn't cleaned.

We stayed on a traditional Japanese room with private onsen (private villa). Excellent and relaxing experience, we enjoyed our private onsen at night with a bit of snow. Personnel were amazing and extremely helpful. The whole complex is magnificent.

It was not obvious to us that the room has no shower inside, but it is located just close to the onsen and outside. We understand it is part of the experience and it was not a negative point to us, but we think it is important to note this for future guests to avoid frustrations.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Lovely rooms and onsen. the views were amazing

Needs some maintenance, especially in the reception areas. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open for dinner or breakfast on the night we were there - this is only an issue because it it some way from town.

Very traditional old Japanese house , great view but away from center

Our room is located at the edge of hotel, there’re many individual houses situated within the park. We had two bungalows, living room linked (outdoor corridor ) with separated bedroom and bedroom which is very weird. The bathroom is located semi outdoor without any heater, which made it really uncomfortable and extremely COOL during winter season. There should be explanation with booking , or someone to informed us about the room style .
