This was a truly memorable and awesome stay for us in Kumano. We were kindly welcomed in a house filled with figurines, games and toys from the early 2000s. The host was extremely kind and even helped us set up a projector to watch a movie! One of the most unique stays we’ve experienced in Japan so far! There’s also an incredible restaurant nearby called 食堂 あお where the owner speak English and we got to taste the best fish we’ve ever had! Overall highly recommend!!

It is a very unique house filled with memories from the childhood of the owner. I had great fun playing super famicom and having wonderful conversation with the host and another guest. I only stayed for one night as i am walking the kumano kodo pilgrimage, wish i could spend longer time here.

    nothing.
