Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanSmoking room don't have exchange of air. Room card easily damaged, suggest to check before leave front.
Good security at front door. Surrounding street near Korea street and Shinjuku Kabukicho street, have more choice of street walking. Also, it's near Shin-ōkubo eki than Shinjuku eki , access from Shin-ōkubo eki will easier to find way if not familr with Shinjuku eki.

RomaniaThe room was small, also there was a stairway from another building right before our window, and people could see directly in our room. This meant we had to keep the curtain closed all the time, and of course there was no View at all.

South KoreaI needed to borrow a charging cable and they didn’t have the one I needed. The hotel accommodations said they would have different charging cable but they did not. I would recommend they get the usb to the 3 different type of cables chargers if they do continue to offer charging cables as accommodations. Thank you.
The location is great if you want to focus on the SHINJUKU and Shibuya area of Tokyo. The room was very clean and I appreciate the water bottle accommodations and a set of new towels every morning. I recommend getting the breakfast buffet option for your stay - it was very delicious and satisfying. The Staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. I booked the single room and bed, I’m 5’10 and about 170 lbs and the bed was spacious enough for myself. If you plan to stay as a couple, definitely get the bigger bed option or two beds. The train station is a 5-6 min walk for local destinations and if you’re taking the Express train back to the Airport, it’s close to a 10-11 min walk to get to the platform. Checking in and out was very easy due to the professionalism of the staff. My trip was during the weekday so it was pretty quiet but being in the SHINJUKU district I can imagine it can get loud due to drunks. But it is on the border end of the active bar areas so chances is slim for late night noise.

AustraliaWhile the for the price it is excellent, it is definitely a budget hotel.
We loved the breakfast buffet and the very friendly staff. The location was great, right near many attractions of Shinjuku but tucked away in a quieter street. Great price. Would highly recommend!

NetherlandsThe room is clean but quite small, which is fine if you just use it just for sleeping. But the bathroom is too small, especially for tall/big people. There is a step up when I enter the bathroom, which means that (tall) people might have to bent slightly, this in combination with the somewhat smaller toilet brought discomfort.
The staff was always happy to help, even when I had a late check in at 0:30 AM. They helped me whenever I had questions. I started trying their breakfast for just the first morning, but it was so good that I booked breakfasts for the rest of my stay. And the location is ideal, Shinjuku is a great (first) location to start exploring city life in Tokyo.

United StatesNone.
Proximity to Golden Gai and other popular tourist destination in Shinjuku, 15 minutes walk to JR Shinjuku station. Relatively safe for solo traveler, 7-11 and even Don Quijote are within walking distance. Smaller rooms than my other hotel stays but the amenities are very adequate for comfortable stay. They do provide slippers and pajamas and even have humidifier in the room! The breakfast was so good! There’s Japanese styled breakfast and continental too. They also offer assistance with luggage delivery to your next hotel. The staff were also so kind and gave me refreshing cooling towel when he noticed I was dying from the sweltering heat of Tokyo’s summer. Surprisingly also, it’s near a hospital and its in the quite side of the bustling Shinjuku

United StatesThe air conditioning system would only go down to 20 degrees celsius. Normally this would not be a problem, but during summer (July-august) when we went it was horrendous. I really wish it would be colder during summer with the unbearable heat outside.
For the value for money it was very good. The staff were nice and the rooms were very clean. Theres also a money changer machine right at the lobby. Each floor has a vending machine so you don’t have to go to a konbini every time you have need a drink.location was also perfect. Its very near the heart of kabukicho and near the shin okubo station.

FinlandThe bathroom was quite tight. Toiletry items weren't all the time available in the reception (like in many other places) and I had to ask for a specific item from the personnel. Despite the location it was relatively quiet but I did need earplugs due to police / ambulance noices coming from outside. The large desk could be changed to something smaller to give more floor space to the room.
Breakfast was nice. The hotel and the room was tidy.

United StatesThere was no water dispenser I could find so I would need to go to the nearby 7-11 to grab any water.
Was able to converse with the Front Desk in english and there was a easy way on your room’s TV to check if any laundry machine was available. They also had a free ice machine to use which was very nice.
