Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNothing to complain about, but just be aware of the tight hallways and non-air conditioned elevator prior to getting to the room. It's common for many of these apartment/condo-style hotels in the city, but I don't recommend having too many people at a time if your luggage is larger than a carry-on.
Lovely hotel in Kagurazaka, right in between all the major sites in West Tokyo, while serving as a gentle respite after running around all day. We had the larger room style for a family of four, and it was perfect for the three nights that we stayed there. The room was quite spacious and had everything we needed (towels, slippers, toiletries). The staff change the sheets every three days, and they went above and beyond and even organized and folded our clothes. The shower was my favorite part of the room, having a sauna-like room to rinse and clean before soaking in the bath. The TV channels were limited but has all the major networks for Tokyo news. The hotel staff were super accommodating throughout our stay, and they were especially helpful at check-out and storing our bags before we left the city for the day. Even with my broken Japanese (and my family only knowing English), they were able to help us well. They also gave nice suggestions for places to explore in the small town and good food recommendations.

United StatesThe only critique we had was that the beds were very firm. A slightly softer mattress would have made our stay even more comfortable. But overall, we were VERY pleased with this choice for our time in Tokyo!
The saff was friendly and helpful. Instructions and expectations were made clear up front. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and surprisingly roomy for three guests. The location was a perfect blend of quiet city within close proximity to the train stations where we could access all the major tourist areas around Tokyo. We would definitely stay here again!

AustraliaOur room was located near the cleaning / amenities area, not that appealing on entry but a neat area. The room did not have a chair or table so in the room you could only sit on the bed. The room was dark.
Large room in a small hotel in a great location on the ground floor. Very clean, well maintained room and well appointed bathroom.

SingaporeThe towels were adequate but could have been a little bit more plush. No lobby to speak of. Just a desk. Then again, no-one needs to pay for additional amenities that they never use.
Everything in the room was fit for purpose and well thought out. Liked the emphasis on functionality with a touch of luxury where it counted: Super comfortable and quality bed with luxury high thread count bedsheets; good size Japanese bathroom with quality bath products; and a large air purifier. Plenty of space for a Japanese hotel room - suitcase could be neatly tucked under the large sofa. Great location.

AustraliaNot on main direct rail line to central Tokyo. Need to change at least once became a bit tedious.
Clean and comfortable beds. Large shower with separate toilet great for sharing with adult kids or group. Good quality toiletries. Everything was new and fresh. Appreciated size of room for Tokyo- huge plus. Many restaurants close by. 2 rail stations close by. Area safe residential zone.

United KingdomUnlike all other hotels in Japan, they didn't help with luggage forwarding to the next hotel, which can be difficult to do on your own if you don't speak Japanese. Staff not really as warm as we experienced in other hotels.

The staff, the big room, the location. Such a lovely little hotel. Tokyo hotels can be expensive but the Vintage is excellent value. Great showers too. Kagaruzaka is the best area I've stayed in ten years going to Tokyo.

AustraliaThe room was perfect for my family of 3 kids. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet, I didn’t hear any other guests for our whole stay and the toilet and shower were separate which is really useful. Lots of room and the area is fantastic. Not touristy at all and with lots of convenience stores and cafes/restaurants close by for dinner. I highly recommend.
