Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongThe front desk did not tell me the need to reserve the breakfast time slot during my check in. Therefore, in the morning, we waited almost half an hour for walk-in seat.
The room was big for 3 people, clean and neat. Free drink in the lobby. The breakfast was exceptional. Unexpectedly, there was an icy drink event in the lobby in the afternoon.

MalaysiaHad to spend a Saturday night in Nagoya, and hotel prices were crazy. This one offered free stays for children, so we chose it. The room was small but manageable, we take turns to open our luggage. Location is central, which was convenient.

HungaryWe found out this is a Legoland partner hotel, which attracted many families with small children. These we resulting some congestions during breakfast hours, which the staff couldn't handle effectively - mostly due to US tourists without manners expecting priority above others. Breakfast timeslot registration would help. Otherwise we didn't have to wait long.
The location is a perfect balance of reaching the train station within a few minutes, but still far enough from the busiest streets to provide undisturbed rest. Also the reach of the old city district is near. The new construction and well equipped hotel provided a perfect rest: having good quality and spacious bed in a relatively small room, giving an overall good comfort. Also the insulation of the new building is worth to mention: we didn't need to run the air conditioner during the night (which we are sensitive of during sleep). The in-building onsen has a single pool and a sauna, which was spacious enough and opening times are generous to provide refreshment from dawn to night hours. Breakfast variety was perfect, incl. Japanese style selections and also some European bakeries, e.g. brioche.

Hong KongNone.
We like everything at the hotel, particularly the staff who have been very courteous and helpful. The facilities were good and so was the breakfast. The hotel is close to the station which is less than 10 minutes walk. Parking was plentiful.

United StatesThe room is considered a bit small when filled with a family of 4 with luggage’s.
We loved the breakfast buffet. The location, cleanses of the room, and the effort of the staffs trying to help the customers in English is plausible. We took advantage of the hotel sharing umbrellas everyday! And the parking spots are almost always available. The big bath was quite enjoyable for recovering from the jet lags.

CanadaThe hotel is nice and clean. We used the onsen every night and enjoyed free popsicles after. Kids pajamas and slippers avaliable. Staff are friendly. Price is very reasonable. Room is very comfortable. Only con is the location. It is about 10-15 min walk to most train lines. Its a quiet area but we saw a few drunkies walking back to the hotel at night. Just need to be more alert if you have kids with you. Its also a 10 min walk to the Aeon Mall which has many food options.

Hong KongComfy hotel, room size is considered big (in japan's major cities). Breakfast was awesome, loved it. They have a free welcome drink (drinks fountain) available for check-in guests from 1400pm to 2300pm; the public bath (onsen) was awesome too.

TaiwanEverything are great However, the location is a bit far from Nagoya station, it can be exhausting when having luggage.
The hotel is quite new and clean in general. Their staff are hospitable and responsive towards guests. Hotel offers satisfactory amenities, complimentary drinks provided from 2 to 11 pm at lobby. What's more, there's public bath with onsen, which relieved long day of travel.Their breakfast buffet are bountiful with wide range of local cuisine, such as miso katsu, Okura toast, hitsumabushi and even Tuna sashimi rice.

GermanyThe room was small. We stayed there as a family of four. We were able to arrange a baby bed, but the baby bed was so tiny that our baby almost could not fit in.
The hotel was children and baby friendly. They provide children books, diaper pail and strollers to be lent out.

AustraliaIf you book for a child, the hotel doesn’t provide a pillow or towel for the child in the hotel room. You have to ask them for these items. If they have all the child’s details, I would have expected that these are basic things that should already be in the hotel room ready for the child.
The buffet breakfast had a great selection of both Asian and western style food. They also offer complementary drinks (eg soft drinks, juices, coffee) to guests at all times, which is great! The pillow was unique but comfortable. It was a foldable pillow that has 2 different fillings so you can choose which half you preferred to use (or both if you fold it). The bed was very comfortable. They provide many amenities for guests (eg toiletries, children’s pyjamas, hair ties etc) but note that these are all self-service - ie they are available in the hotel lobby or you have to collect items from the front desk.
