We came for the river and waterfall, but the climb down? Too scary for this couch potato. 🫣

The property sits above a tranquil river and has a nice, convenient barbecue spot. The owner, Kai, was welcoming and incredibly helpful. The house itself felt homey, like your sweet grandma’s house. 😌 We stayed in a private room that felt like a mini museum, filled with jaw-dropping Japanese antique furniture. We also appreciated that the additional services Kai provides, such as the shuttle, barbecue set, food, and drinks, are all very reasonably priced compared to many other hostels. ⭐️

Kai the owner is great :) It is in a quiet area near many mountains to hike. There is an outdoor workout space in the yard. Theres a river with cold water to swim and chill. The place is located far but still close by 20 minutes walk from a town with a conscience store. Thanks :)

It was in the middle of nature! This was absolutely beautiful and you can start your hiking trail in a gorgeous place. The house is very cozy and there is even an outdoor gym! The place is also directly at a river, where you can hang in a hammock :) this is so great!

Everything was incredible at this little haven near Jimba San! The place itself was very clean and comfortable. The location is not too far from Sagamiko station and quite close to a Jimba San trailhead. There was some free coffee/tea and snacks available for purchase. Kai really made the stay feel incredibly comfortable, whether it was with directions, hiking advice or a workout (awesome outdoor gym!). There was a small room to do some work or read in. Can't express enough how pleasant of an experience it was.

Kai’s accommodation is wonderfully situated in nature. The furnishings are simple yet beautiful, and I would have loved to stay longer. Additionally, Kai is an excellent cook! It’s a very special and lovely place to stay. I’m glad I found it at the last minute.

Kai the host was super friendly and gave us some tips including a better hike than we had planned to Mt Takao. We went quite a jungly (buggy!) route but we were rewarded with great views of woodland then open hills. We took the cable car down and there was a cute souvenir shop. The accommodation being on the river is very tranquil with the option to hang out there on comfy chairs. Places to eat /bus stop are a bit of a steep walk so we found having a car helpful. Futon bed set up is reasonable comfort but to be expected. All supplies and facilities are useful 🙂

Very friendly host and beautiful surroundings. I used it as a last stop of the Tokai Nature Trail but will soon return because of how welcoming the place was. Definitely recommend!

What I liked most was the location (in the forest, near a river, you can enjoy nature in silence) and of course the owner, who tries to give the best to his guests. it feels like this is your old friend!

The place was very beautiful and the host Kai was very kind. The place is all surrounded by forest and there is beautiful water stream flowing, in which you can swim unless it is not winter lol. You can cook your own food in common kitchen or ask Kai to arrange the BBQ. Highly recomended place to escape into nature and have lovely time in the woods.

On the negative side, I would only mention that the beds are a little rough.

The location is beautiful, there's a river right next to the hostel where you can relax and enjoy calm times in nature. The host Kai is just amazing, had a lot of fun. Met great people there, and if you ask me, that's the reason to go to a hostel. There's plenty of excellent hikes nearby, I did the Mount Jinba. It was scenic, and I even got the chance to see a group of 8 monkeys. Excellent stay, I recommend highly.

It’s a 50 minute walk to the nearest convenience store — best to bring both dinner and breakfast. If you like quiet and unique it’s great, if you’re looking for lots of facilities then this less suited

Clean bunk beds w shelves to place your stuff and charge electronics. Owner Kai is friendly and knowledgeable about the region. Great place to stay if you are hiking in the area.

- a little walk to Sagami-ko station, but that's honestly part of the experience. The nature and mountains more than make up for it.

-The owner Kai is very kind and can tell you about places all around Japan and the world. He's changed my trip for the better! -I also had a chance to talk to the locals and do some sports with them which was very fun. -Kai is very quick to integrate any advice you give him. I really liked that about him, thanks Kai! -The place is close to Tokyo ~1hour and at the same time in the middle of near magical unspoilt nature. Also close to Mt Takao

Nothing comes to mind it was a perfect stay.

The training in the morning with Kai, and the location in the mountains was awesome! It’s a beautiful place to rest and recharge and the sauna and river cool off was amazing. Kai is a very attentive host but gives you plenty of space at the same time. I had a bbq and asked if he would like to join me which he did and we had a great night! Unfortunately he didn’t forget training in the morning 😂😁 What a great guy.

I thought the property gets quite cold during colder season, so better take some warm socks. But all properties in Japan are usually like that, so, you should be ready for that. And I thought duvet got a bit of a damp smell.

I really enjoyed personal boxing training with Kai-san, and he was very nice, showed me the route from the place to Takao-san, which few people know, so even though it was a weekend, it wasn’t crowded at all. Volunteers there at the property made great scramble eggs for me for breakfast, I was so happy :)

A place where you can hear about Kai's travels and meet people from different countries. You can also experience river sauna and boxing. It was great to be able to barbecue in the nature!
