Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe sink in the room and nowhere to put our cases!
We had a superior room and it was great. Lovely view and a small terrace. Shower good and powerful. As part of the room rate you also get free access to the onsen next door which is fabulous. And it was just a short walk to the train station and ferry - and lots of great restaurants. There was also a good washing machine and dryer; one in the men’s section and one in the ladies, which were very useful.

United StatesI was staying in the shared space, so although we each had our own space, any slight noise was heard. The property offers a sleeping mask and ear plugs, which I greatly appreciated, but next time, I'd probably just shell out a few more bucks for my own room.
The access to the onsen nearby was incredible and something I wasn't aware came with the room! The proximity to the train and ferry stations is also unbeatable. The hotel has a lovely lobby and shared space with free tea and was super comfortable to do work on my laptop.

BelgiumWe had a fantastic stay at Uno Hotel during our visit to Naoshima, the art island. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the ferry terminal, which made everything very convenient. The traditional Japanese rooms were truly special. Beautifully designed, spacious, and full of character, they added to the overall experience. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm and welcoming. The staff were outstanding. Easily the best English we encountered during our trip, and always helpful and attentive. Breakfast was a highlight. We chose the traditional Japanese option, which was beautifully presented and delicious. It also included five different juices, a nice touch that stood out. We did not have time to use the onsen next to the hotel, even though it was included in the rate. It is a great extra for anyone staying longer. While not the cheapest hotel of our trip, it was probably the highest in quality. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Naoshima

JapanPrice was a bit on the higher end for a basically shared accommodation, but if budget allows it there are no issues.
Great position and value for single travelers, with more comfort than a normal capsule hotel or hostel. The facilities are modern, clean and well kept. Position very close to the train station and ferry piers. The included onsen coupon and great breakfast were definitely highlights.

BelgiumThe hotel is close to the railway station. The décor is very nice with ‘indigo’ as a common thread. The furniture is very harmonious. The staff at breakfast are very helpful. We told them we were eating vegetarian and they changed the menu a bit. There is a place where you can have a free coffee or tea. This is a pleasant space on the ground floor. It is a super good location if you want to visit Naoshima island, for example. The ferries are within walking distance. Can definitely recommend the location and also the staff are very helpful.

JapanNo complaints. This is more about the onsen, but it's worth noting that if you are a foreign resident of Japan and have tattoos you will want to bring your passport and just say you're a tourist. They won't let residents with tattoos in for some bizarre reason - though you can simply work around the rule rather than complain on Google reviews so I recommend doing that.
Honestly everything actually exceeded my expectations. Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms overlooking the harbor and islands. The onsen was really nice, good water and a range of pools plus an extremely nice new sauna and cold plunge. If you're going to Naoshima I'd really recommend choosing this place. And even though the price is a little higher than usual for inaka, I think it's very much worth it. You'll pay as much for an APA in Tokyo these days.

Perfect location for visiting the nearby island, and the dormitory rooms are about the most private and spacious of any I’ve seen in this class of accomodation.

United KingdomGreat location if you want to visit Naoshima. Staying by UNO port allowed me to discover the “rural” part of Japan and not just the artsy part of Naoshima. The kindness of the staff and locals was incomparable. I highly recommend staying at UNO hotel instead of on Naoshima. Thank you to the amazing staff for such great professionalism and kindness. Their English was TOP LEVEL. I will be back!

United KingdomJust everything was perfect and way beyond expectations. The rooms are spacious and so clean. The communal tea area is so wonderful and the included trip to the onsen such a bonus. The hotel is in the perfect location for easy access to the train station, the ferry to Naoshima and the 7-Eleven 🙌
