The property was clean, authentic, and inviting. The host/owners were incredible, very kind and generous people. The second we arrived, they helped with our bags, explained what to do and eat in the area, even offered to pick up some food for us at a nearby restaurant. They made our stay extra good and pleasant. The onsun was perfect and calming, we had an amazing stay and experience.

Loved this place, the room was great and the onsen was fantastic. The owners were both lovely too and gave us a lift up to the ropeway station when we arrived and didn't know the best way to get there.

The property itself is located in a nice part of Hakone, and it’s well furnished with lots of beautiful decorations. The onsen is wonderful and the accommodations were amazing as well. The sleeping mat and tatami mats were so comfortable. Most of all, the owners are wonderful and went out of their way to help us all the time. Whether it was giving us umbrellas, calling up places to check when they open, giving us advice on where to visit, providing maps of popular spots, or even walking us to the restaurant we planned to go to, they were absolutely amazing and kind. If i would choose anywhere to stay in Hakone again, I would stay here.

The hosts were so nice to us, offered to take us to the cable car and a restaurant, they were so kind!! The room was large and comfortable, with great view. The place is beautifully designed, very calm and relaxing, and the hot tub (onsen) was amazing!! We had a great time! Thank you and hope to visit again!

The hosts went beyond what others would do and provided us a lot of support along the way, despite not having to. They behaved in a very friendly way and did their best to make us feel comfortable. Amazing experience!

Having a private shower would have been a big plus. The stay was relatively expensive and cash only.

Amazing host that went above and beyond to make our stake comfortable. He was incredibly welcoming and helped us on multiple occasions, impacting really positively our stay in Hakone. The onsen, particularly the outside one, were charming and it was the first time we could do an onsen as a family.

This is a gorgeous little family-run traditional Japanese inn - the rooms are lovely, the couple who own it are amazing and the onsens are brilliant!

The place is an old house so even the appliances aren't very modern but enough to get by. Also despite the photos showing it for some reason we had the expectation that the onsen was outdoors but it's fully indoors.

Incredibly nice hosts, super friendly and despite not speaking fluent English we could communicate very easily. They even offered to give us rides and book restaurants for us. The private onsen was also pretty nice and relaxing.

The onsen on the first floor felt a bit unusual and could have been cleaner. We also felt a bit uncomfortable at times due to some tense moments between the owners, which impacted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. We were also a bit far from the lake Ashi.

We had a wonderful stay despite the rainy weather, thanks to the hospitality of the owners. They kindly allowed us to check in early and even helped us dry our wet belongings, which we truly appreciated. The room was really spacious and offered a beautiful view of the mountains. We also loved having multiple access times to the onsen and the convenient location close to the town and bus stops. The lady owner was especially kind and went out of her way to help us—she even walked with us to the local restaurant and suggested to bring us by car to a further one. Her warmth and generosity made our stay feel extra special.

That we didn’t book more nights!

The couple who own the place were amazing! They are knowledgeable about the area, come to greet you nearly every time you enter or exit the place, they will drive you to nearby places and if they spot you walking back will offer you a ride. They bring hot water to your room multiple times a day for tea. The onsens are magical, so relaxing and healing. The views are breathtaking wherever you go in the area.

Incredible place to stay, traditional and stunning. The couple running the place were incredibly kind, dropping us off at various places including for food in the evening! The onsens were both amazing and a perfect temperature. Extra shout out to the fresh hot water and lovely green tea provided, because they made my morning and evening. Probably the best place I have ever stayed.

Excellent accommodation. No complaints whatsoever.

The moment we walked in we were welcomed by the lovely hotel owners. They made sure our stay was every bit as pleasant as it could be. This was despite the language barrier. There was a sign which charges for water but they were generous to offer it for free. Onsen were spacious and relaxing, as well as being 24 hours. The hotel owner even gave us a lift to the bus stop as a kind gesture. Fully recommend this place!

Can’t recommend this place enough! Lovely house and the pair that owns it are amazing as well. They do their best to accommodate you and help you throughout your stay. Rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. It’s my second time coming to stay with them and it’s always a joy. I will be coming back again!

Nothing. Everything was great.

The hosts were adorable. They went a long way to make us feel comfortable. When we arrived they walked us to the nearest bus stop to visit the main attractions and when we left they drove us to the station to catch the train to Kyoto. They also offered us a gift. Lovely experience, I would recommend.
