Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe shower area has some mats that looked a little messy and the stairs that lead to the top bunk were a bit uncomfortable (wooden), but honestly, little to no complaints
I only stayed overnight but the location is great (easy access to the train) and the price was affordable. The hostel also had a small kitchen and the staff was really friendly and helpful.

RomaniaThe traditional Japanese bedroom was a bit basic. No mattress was provided, only a duvet and bed sheets. You literally sleep on the tatami directly.
Excellent location and value. The staff is friendly.

JapanI wanted to rent a bike but they did not have one, despite it being listed in their services.
I just stayed one night, as part of my Rokko-san hike/Arima onsen+Nada sake factory tour. The room was spacious, which I highly appreciated. Even if it could fit many people, there was more than enough space for everyone. The staff was friendly.

Spacious shower room and bedroom of 4 beds. Staff helps to carry our heavy luggage up 2 floors because there is no elevator. The staff are friendly, kind and helpful. They are always on stand by to attend your needs during reception hours!

JapanThe futons were incredibly thin, even when I stacked mine & my child’s and we slept together it still felt like we were sleeping on a thick blanket on hard floor. We’re used to sleeping on tatami mats & futons and generally love doing so. This was not the case here. The most upsetting part of the stay was the noise though. Beginning at 6am the doors of the other rooms kept opening and closing loudly - over & over & over - with full squealing sounds- until 8am when we finally just left to get breakfast. The door hinges need to be greased. We’re assuming the staff was cleaning rooms for those 2 hours - hence the frequent in and out. I’d strongly suggest they begin cleaning at a later hour… or folks who have a late night choose a different hotel.
Nice facilities, bathroom & tub in room, staff were very kind & welcoming. Conveniently located.

AustraliaNothing really.
The owner was very welcoming and accommodating! I had an overnight bus at midnight and checkout was obviously hours before that, so I left my luggage at the hostel to explore the rest of Kobe and kill some time, which also resulted in my phone battery dying with no other facilities to charge. So, when I went back to the hostel, the owner was very kind to let me charge my phone. The general facilities are quite female-friendly, so to speak - there are dedicated female-only facilities. The place is within walkable distance from Oishi station, which is only a few stops from Kobe-Sannomiya and Motomachi. It's also conveniently accessible to transports for Mt Rokko, which also leads to Arima Onsen. Overall, the hostel is decently quiet and definitely worth a bang for its buck given it's more of a residential area, so expect it to be less bustling than the main city area.

FinlandThe creakiest bed I have ever slept in. I felt horrible climbing into it, but also every single small movement I made while turning in the bed would creak the bed very loudly, surely enough to wake up the person under me, if not everyone in the dorm. I felt guilty trying to move at all. I could hear the other beds creaking too. Bed was hard to make yourself on the second level. In low cost dorms like this, the bed is the most important part, so the creakiness is a deal breaker. Toilets and showers were divided by gender on different floors, but the explanation was only verbal, so it felt a bit complicated.
Very kind and cheerful staff, helped me with my luggage and showed me around. Close to the station. Common areas were nice.

CanadaNothing.
Loved this hostel. The couple that runs this place are amazing people. They were very accommodating and were very patient when I tried to speak some Japanese with them. This place is a good alternative to staying in Osaka, as osaka hotels can be expensive and booked up. If we return to Osaka area, we will 100% stay here again. Beds are comfortable, very spacious dorms, kitchen has everything you need to cook, and plenty of bathrooms and showers. Enjoyed our stay very much
