How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

there is no comb which is inconvenient. the breakfast is a bit late and does not match our schedule.

Included breakfast and the staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Right next to the bus and train station. Multiple coin lockers. Walkable to restaurants and convenience stores.

The location is excellent- ideal for trips around the Fuji area. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.

Nothing really much
The location is excellent cannot fault it next to the station and a shuttle to gotemba outlet . We have a view of Mount Fuji from our room however we only barely saw it at night . The staff were accomodating and the food for breakfast was good and different more vegetables than western food .

We interacted very little with the front desk staff. Checking in and checking out was via a kiosk and relatively easy. However, minimal interaction felt very transactional.
The location was near Gotemba Station, which is why we booked this hotel. Rooms were clean and breakfast had a great selection. Hotel is clean.

The hotel does not have luggage overnight service. No exception given. Was mislead by the luggage storage facility. Was thrown into a turmoil not knowing what to do with the luggages.

None really. It's good value for the price
Great location with access to train and buses. The complimentary unlimited coffee and breakfast was good. The staff were good.

Parking at the first floor is full so staff tell us to use a near parking. It’s not far but a little difficult for big luggage

Good breakfast, near to train and shuttle bus stations. Free shuttle to Gotemba premium outlet. Restaurants nearby. Mt Fuji view from room is nice if weather is fine.

However, I was disappointed with the parking situation. The car park is a 5-8 minute walk from the hotel, which was tiring with luggage and backpacks. Additionally, it still cost 2000 yen per night, which felt unreasonable given the distance and lack of shuttle service.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was clean, comfortable, and had an amazing view of Mount Fuji. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and my mom and 5-year-old niece especially loved it. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating.

Slight smell in the toilet. Had to going up and down for refilling drinking water. 3 pieces of pillow for 3 beds for 6 occupants.
Decent breakfast, good location with the advantage of free shuttle bus going to gotemba outlet.

There was no towel provided for kids. When i requested, they would charge additional cost. I think with those simple things, they could have just given it. we stayed for two days, the next day, they provided extra towels for replacement.
I like the size of the room, cleanliness, security, location, breakfast is decent with fair amount of options, and free-flowing coffee.

In the evening there were no more free parking spaces, so we had to use a parking lot recommended by the hotel, unfortunately with an additional fee.
Typical good Toyoko Inn room with comfortable bed and it was clean.

The bathroom in my room smelt like sewerage. However, my parents room (the room next door) was fine.

Such a pleasant stay at Toyoko Inn Gotemba. What stands out is that the hotel provided shuttle bus service to Fuji Q and Kawaguchiko area by web reservation easily. You can also ride the free shuttle bus service to the premium outlet just across the hotel. The hotel is very close to the Gotemba Station so if you’re heading to Gotemba from Tokyo by bus, they will just drop you off at the station and you just have to walk around 100m to the hotel. Breakfast was pretty decent, water station and laundry area was provided as well. Overall a great stay in Toyoko Inn Gotemba.

Breakfast was pretty meh, it was fine but nothing special. The room lighting is a bit weird, but easy enough to figure out an arrangement that works. Only thing they're missing is an onsen really.
Great location right beside the train station which also has all the bus stops around it, so really handy for getting lots of places in the area. Got a view of Mount Fuji from my room, can't beat that! Really good shower, one of the best I've had in Japan (it wasn't too small!!). Also room had plenty of space, a bit more than is typical in Japan.
