Very friendly staff and tasty meals

The staff were amazing. Due to me having food poisoning. Before I arrived they, were very comforting and offered medicine and did there best to give me food to help me.

The owner was very accommodating to prepare vegetarian meals for my wife, and not charging me for the beer either! They had a community donation box on the front desk so we sent the beer money there instead.

There's really nothing negative to say about this property or the hospitality of the owner.

Location great. Breakfast included. Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig room. While shared biiiiiiiiig bath. Tatami floor Proper tatami insulation for bed and nice chairs etc Nice people, welcoming hot green tea.

A few stains, may need some updating but would happily stay there again. One of the best stays in Japan.

Super friendly and helpful. It feels like coming home. The room was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was a feast every morning. I had a wonderful stay.

Very good location, sweet and kind staff, feel you go back in time to old school Japan, I loved it!! One thing only the pillow was way too hard for me, but all was perfect!

For the price a nice ryokan experience. Why not a high end ryokan it has all the necessary ingredients for a nice stay. Friendly lady willing to help, nice clean tatami mats and nice breakfast. There is a private bath that is shared with the other guests so you could have to wait for it. While not really an onsen, it is a nice and big bath for you to relax. Location is also close to the station

Authentic Japanese style

Close to shops and train station. Front desk staff (Auntie) is nice and friendly.

Old and rundown, refurbished ryokan. A smell of sewage could be inhaled in the bedroom after using the toilet. Creeking sound of the floor could be heard when you walk and when you shut doors. The bathroom/toilet is not too clean. Did not have the chance to use the ofuro as too dark and only open for males on the floor we were staying. Had to go one level down to be able to use communal soak bath for females. We booked for two nights stay but had to change hotel the next day due to some creepy feeling overnight. I had a nightmare and did not sleep at all. A strange experience that made me to book for another hotel on the following day. Bed covers do not look fresh and clean.

It was clean, and very simple. The pictures are very accurate to what you will receive. The restaurant downstairs was very convenient, and the staff made me feel extremely welcome. I ended up getting the half board during my stay and I got to try so many new items and food I would not have known how to order. Mind you, some of the traditional meals may be off putting for foreigners who are not prepared it - make sure you research first what a traditional japanese halfboard might look like to get an idea. Also keep in mind that this location does not speak much English and you will need to be patient and kind to the staff. Would absolutely reccomend and stay here again.

Nothing to complain about!

Toyofuku was a wonderful place to stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was very kind and helpful. It is also located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants as well as the train station. I very much recommend staying here!

I like that there's potable water and the room is clean and tidy.

Some may find the location of the hotel a bit out of the way.
