The only thing that concerned me was I noticed the air conditioner was a little dirty. Since guests will be using it regularly during the hot and cold seasons, I think they will appreciate a clean air conditioner.

The property is very charming and spacious with plenty of facilities for guests. Plus it’s located just a short walk from the lake and onsen. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Really nice big hostel, with private parking and really great location. Short walk to the lake and also not too far from Oirase Gorge for a day of walking along the river. Also free breakfast which is always nice! Would recommend it and definitely come back!

Absolutely gorgeous location. A little bit offside but that adds to it's charm. Nice rooms and comfy lounge to meet other travellers. Breakfast and launch were simple but delicious.

The facilities/building is very old, so the bathrooms weren't very nice, though clean enough, though I went to the nice onsen in the hotel next door instead, as is only 500yen, but bring a towel.

The dinner of barayaki was very good. There was also a little breakfast of toasts and cereal.

Beds were quite worn out. Not many sockets. You have to do your own bed. A bit cold in the common areas, the bedrooms had heaters. Maybe a bit expensive for what you get.

In general clean, the basic breakfast was ok. Beds had curtains that were ok, not ideal though. Staff was ok friendly. Everything has a bit of a camping vibe, it's not the typical neat japanese hotel or hostel.

Everything was fine.

Simple room in a rustic guesthouse in Yasumiya. The location is great, close to Lake Towada with its restaurants and sights, and the bus station around 5 minutes on foot. The barayaki set dinner was also good value, especially given the lack of dinner options nearby.

I would take a bit more care of the sharing aerea/kitchen.

Location is very close to the lake and to the main bus stop. Breakfast was very satisfying considering the price I paid for the night.

The room and beds are clean but the common facilities such as sinks and bathrooms need a bit of tidy-up.

It has high spirit of backpackers. Many who stay come to walk the Oirase trail. Staff are helpful but have rather limited English. Good cheap dinner meet our requirement as no restaurants open in the evening. Food from convenient store is no better option.

A male latrine is not working. A notice written in Japanese was pasted on the unserviceable latrine. The toilet is too small. Bathroom is located next. Can only accommodate 2 persons at any one time.

Breakfast is provided free consisting of hard boiled eggs, cereal, milk, coffee, bread, jam and margarine. Breakfast starts serving at 6.45 am although officially it is stated that breakfast starts at 7 am. Service is provided by the lady owner done with a ready smile.

Everything was good :) English translations on signage weren't great but talk to the staff and you'll have no issues. Breakfast is toast and eggs which is fine but nothing fancy.

The wooden floor is more or less noisy while somebody is walking by.

Spacious house with many rooms. Clean and tidy. They have slippers for everyone at the entrance. Well-equipped kitchen is free to use. Only 3mins walking distance to Onsen which costs ¥500. Location is not far from the lake.

The ladder to the upper bunk should be located at the most right or left side of the bed instead in the middle which made it difficult for person at lower bunk bed to go in and out.
