The owners are nice. The guests were nice. The sheets are all freshly washed by a professional service. The beds were also fine. We did not get bitten by anything. The building is in a poor state, but it is adequate for a 2500 yen per night hostel. The two person rooms are okay and have decent air conditioning. There is a large air conditioned lounge and it is close to the local hotel onsen (350 yen) .

The room is clean, but outside room especially the toilets and wash areas look like have not been clean for quite a while, giving the house an eerie feel especially we arrived late at night and no light is on , even at the main door or entrance

although the beds and rooms were clean, the rest of the property is very dirty, worn down and in disrepair. The kitchen in particular had a bad smell.

The house will soon go out of business, as is announced on site by the owner. This is also flagrantly apparent by the lack of care, with mouldy walls, insects everywhere, and no clean linen or towels as no one works there anymore.

It has a great abandoned hotel vibe, definitely good for filming a short horror movie. Owner seems friendly.

The staff was very nice and helpful, great accommodation with character. Previous reviews are wrong and misleading, the cleanliness is very acceptable. The free breakfast and bikes were a nice addition.

worst hostel ever, i have never seen any room like that before I have to call other hotel and stay in other hotel i m not rich but just cannot sleep in that room, avoid twin room in the first floor- nightmare

No staff there, owner could only be reached by phone. We were put in an annex that clearly smelled of mould, with no heating of or facilities of its own, internet and mobile coverage didn't reach there. There was a gas heater in the room which we couldn't get to work and seemed unsafe for the room anyway. No big towels to rent available despite what it said on the website. The shared spaces were not clean, generally the smell of mould was ubiquitous. Changed accommodation after first night since we were lucky enough that there was a vacancy in the other hostel nearby. You can see that this was once a nice place with a cozy common room, amenities like free bicycles to borrow etc., but unfortunately those days are in the past. I am seldom this negative, but I can only recommend to avoid now.

The building is very dirty, particularly the bathroom where we felt very uncomfortable. The free bread for breakfast had passed its use by date. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here

The bed linen is professionally cleaned and comfortable. The owner provides various services to make your stay more convenient, although they often do not work (such as the bikes)

The place is dirty and shabby, smelling mould. The Photos must be 20-30 years old, the 'pond' for example doesn't exist anymore but plants have grown there, the chairs are partly broken and grey. The first room assigned smelled mouldy, after complaining we got another room where a whole in the floor made one bed stand ascrew... The common sitting areas are not cleaned regularly. A part of our family moved out after one night to anearby place similar in price, but clean and well kept.

There are reduced price vouchers for the nearby Onsen and a good stock of dry food for sale.
