The hotel is just 5 min from Odawara station, just in front of the old castle. All rooms has windows with a clear view of castle's garden and the main bastion. All rooms were super clean. Furniture and electrical stuff were in perfect condition. Just bear in mind, that it would be difficult to check-in in the evening, because there might be no stuff to meet you. In any case, I would definitely return to this hotel one more time if I see Odawara again!

Although the apartment is very spacious, there is not much room to store your things. As we stayed only one night, this was not an issue; but if you stay for longer, living out of your suitcase might become cumbersome. To be fair: This was an issue with all the places we stayed at in Japan - even in more expensive hotels - so this is a very minor complaint.

The apartment-building is directly next to the Odawara Castle Grounds and looks very new; it is about 7 minutes on foot from Odawara station. There are restaurants and conbinis in the area. The apartment ist very spacious (we were three adults). I especially liked the bathroom: You can have the bathtub fill up automatically, and there is a function to heat up and ventilate the bathroom to dry clothes over night. This is very usefull if you have clothes you either cannot dry in the washing-/dryer-combo that is available, or if you get drenched in the rain as we did. Staff was very friendly and did not mind us storing our suitcases for a couple of hours after our check-out while we went to visit the castle.

Top location, top facilities and top staff! Apartment is very nicely renovated, clean, well equipped and spacious. We were not used to futon beds but we knew that we would get that before we booked. Takes practicing :) Staff was super friendly and polite and explained the usage of the facilities to us. Odawara castle is in sight, bathed in sunrise. We think that the apartment is nicer than the ryokan in Hakone!

Wonderful little apartment, fully equipped with high tech facilities in the room e.g. toilet that had self opening and closing lid, automatic water tap, high tech bath tub. Washer/dryer in room which has inbuilt washing liquid and fabric softener. Very comfortable stay in Odawara, could have stayed much longer. Few minute walk from train station and central shops. Right outside Odawara castle with view of castle. Very helpful and friendly staff member (even though limited English) who gave a tour of the room even though we arrived almost at end of check in time. Japanese style futon bed was comfortable. Bikes for hire onsite.

Stayed here April 2024. Happy with the apartment. Very clean standard Japan home. Got washing and dryer combo for laundry, induction cooktop, dehymidifier, etc. A view of the Odawara castle was a plus. Short walk to train station (JR, bullet train and Hakone Tazon line) and bus interchange so getting to Hakone was very easy. Alot of restaurants nearby, eg. Minaka and other street food. Staff was super helpful, friendly and speaks sufficient English. Also can hire ebikes at reception.

So far my best accommodation through out my 2 weeks vacation in Japan. Should have 2 nights here. The castle is walking distance. Train station is like 10 min walks. House is super super clean. I am falling in love with Odawara town. Very beautiful.

Maybe more English instruction on washing machine - tried to look for short cycle 🙈 but still can’t find. Anyway regular cycle was good, around 2-3,5 hours until done & dry.

We are family of 4. 2 adults and 2 teens. We bring 1 medium suitcase & 1 cabin suitcase. When we arrived the apartment was cleaned and ready for us. The lady who in charged at the front office help us to explain the apartment (password door, heater, washing machine, how to lay the futon, etc). All of us can sleep well on the futon and the room was warm (we travel in Dec). Just the same with other hotel apartments in Japan, they only provide cleaning, etc on the 4th day or by requests. The daily will be taking trash out (fyi: they require us to separate the recycling goods - can/pet bottles/ glass bottles) and changing the towels. The apartment provided pajamas, heater (air conditioning), washing machine (dryer all in 1), and a humidifier. The space is enough and descent for 4 of us and suitcases. The things for consideration are, 1. Hooks in the bathroom and/or taller drying rack because the current one was so short, we need to fold the wet towel & hang them. Or maybe just provide string/pole above the bathtub area so we can hang dry small laundry/towel. 2. Since no daily cleaning, maybe providing a handheld broom & dustpan or handheld vacuum is a good idea. We can clean the crumbs or hairs from the floor. The apartment is short walking distance to Odawara station, which has many restaurants and shops around. Odawara castle also short walking distance and since it was weekday, less people around and the sightseeing was so pleasant. It was pleasant to stay at The View Odawara :) we love the city and the surrounding - quiet and tranquil for staying yet not lacking the necessities.

Not enough kitchen utensils. Only had futon beds and a single sofa bed. May not be comfortable for people not used to Japanese style sleeping (not an issue in our case).

Close to Odawara castle and Odawara train station. Many restaurants nearby so it makes a good base to explore the broader area. The accommodation was decently sized and very clean. The bathroom had ample space.

There was considerable noise transfer (footsteps) from the floor above late at night, during the night and early in the morning. It sounded like they had quite a few children running around. This impacted on my sleep, on the first night. After they left it was much better! The futon beds were not that comfy.

The View was considerably cheaper than staying in Hakone. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed.
