Wifi is a major issue - furniture in room is not the comfiest and if you need to work there, good luck. Locks are insufficient to feel particularly safe.

Great location that is both central to the city and close to multiple subway lines. Owner is a great guy and actually tells you how to operate everything. Built eco-friendly. No curfew.

Location was perfect. Little small for comfort but worth the stay due to the location., and very economical in the Asakusa area. A traditional Japanese home stay experience which was exciting for us when compared to hotel stays.

Location was perfect, as it was close to the metro line but also to Senso-ji and the surrounding shopping areas. The place was also clean, and the owner very friendly and helpful.

Towels are NOT included, which was such a bad surprise. The bed covers and pillows were not very good. The pillows were stuffed with some sort of seed or cereal, which made them uncomfortable to use, and the covers had some stuffing that was always moving to one side, leaving us a bit cold during the night.

Typical japanese ryokan. The location is very good, walking distance to one of most turistic areas. We were worried if the futons were going to be uncomfortable, but they were really fine (although maybe if you prefer a very soft mattress, the futon may not be the best thing for you).

I enjoyed my stay at the Ryokan. It was a beautiful house, clean, quiet and in good location. I found the tatami very comfortable for sleeping and have no complains about the facilities. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The value for the money is excellent, if you are traveling on the budget but still want a prime location. The Ryokan house from 1960s has great comfortable and cinematic vibe. I stayed in Winter and it was warm and cozy. The owner is helpful and kind. Out of city centre old Ryokan room stays, this is much better than average experience. Off the busy party streets but close enough to be walking distance from all train and subway lines and great day and night attractions.

Room insulation was poor, but the AC and bedding was sufficient. Toilets can be a little cramped for room, and the shower heads are rather low, but could be adjusted to suit your liking. Walls are quite thin and the floor creaks, but not major problems

The Host was great, almost always available when we needed him. The rooms were large enough, and the futon beds were great. Only a 4 minute walk or so from transport, and located in a great neighborhood for site seeing, nightlife and general tourism.

it's a traditional house, so be aware that it's very noisy -- the ryokan was very calm though so I didn't experience any inconvenience.

The location is good, the rooms are pretty. It's a simple guesthouse, but if you need a calm and traditional place to stay i can highly recommend. Somewhere between hostel and guesthouse. Great for couples i'd say!

There is construction site right next to the building, but what can you do. The rooms have only small flimsy padlock, but in Japan it is not such a problem.

Bed was very comfortable. Metro station is 5 minute walk. Ueno railway station is 20 minute walk. Asakusa is very nice district.

As it is an old place, everything creaks (when people walk around). Not a big thing if you're not a light sleeper. My room was mistakenly opened when I didn't lock it. Not sure if the other guest was looking for his room or the shower room. Perhaps a signage for the shower doors might help.

It is close to Tawaramachi station and within walking distance to the shopping streets, Sensoji Temple, and lots of restaurants. The room is big (better than getting a capsule) so it's easy to spread out your luggage. Staff is helpful and approachable, he would show you where everything is once you check in. Loved my stay there.
