Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe took some time to chill at Taka-G with a busy schedule planned. Directions were easy to follow. Taka-G greatest us on arrival. Basic but just what we needed and the room had air-conditioning. We had a fab day at the beach. Taka-G was so kind and even dropped us off at the station. For a chill no frills stay, this is the place.

AustraliaThere are wasps in all of Wakayama, just a warning if anyone is allergic.
Relaxing stay, very cool owner, nice walk through the park to the beach. The locals are really lovely! The trains are beautifully decorated - so much whimsy! the local farming is wonderful to see. The area is really charming and delightful. We're foreigners, 2 women traveling - we felt really safe and welcome here. We're both alternative by general Japanese standard - I have Sak yant (Buddhist) tattoos, my friend has a shaved head. The owner was wonderful to us. Great guy. Absolutely recommended.

United StatesTaka G is such an incredible and kind host. We came here to escape the city, and we were able to relax and reset after many days of travel. Upon arrival he kindly offered to take us to the grocery store. He offers the use of his kitchen, hot tub, and sauna. The rooms have plenty of space. We were also able to ride his bikes to the beach. There is a beautiful surfing spot within walking distance from his place, where Taka G and many others go to surf everyday. This place is wonderful and relaxing, helping you to escape the rush of life. we will be excited to visit Taka G again on our next trip to Japan.

AustraliaTowels would be nice plus a couple of plates and knives for the kitchen. Otherwise we had everything we needed.
Taka G was so friendly and welcoming and even gave us a couple of rides is his classic 1962 Volkswagon bus. It was a fun place to stay, close to the beach and we even had a beautiful sauna.

CanadaIt was very pleasant to stay at Surf Imin G-Sun. The room was very organized and clean. There is a charger, a lamp and a little fan for every bed. The quality of the accomodation/price ratio is very great. Takaji, the owner was fun and nice. We enjoyed our stay even if it was rainy. The beach, which is very close, is very fun and beautiful. There was a lot of people surfing there. Don’t hesitate to book, you will not regret it!

United StatesI am quite sensitive to cigarette odors, which I could smell in the common areas (although no smoking was witnessed indoors).
The host was really cool and we could tell he is a very welcoming and warm-hearted soul. We appreciated the cleanliness and organization of the place. We really enjoyed the sauna and hot tub that felt brand new. It is also a convenient 10-minute walk to the beach! The host took some memorable pictures of us, which we also really appreciate. This is a special place ran by a genuine, down-to-earth host. Thank you G-Sun for creating a lovely Wakayama experience!

AustraliaI was travelling to visit Tomogashima Island near Kada and was having trouble finding accommodation for a reasonable price. Luckily, I was able to find Surf G-Inn which turned out to be a great experience. The host, Takaji, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. He gave me some great suggestions around the area and was kind enough to drop me off to the port for me to catch my ferry. The house was very clean and organised and was located in a nice, quiet part of town. Great experience!

We stayed here on our way to Koyasan, the final stop of the pilgrimage.(Shikoku 88temples) I am surprised that it is 3600 yen even if you stay with how many people. We stayed with our pet. Of course, the price will not change. Takaji, the owner, is the nicest person. This place is great if you want to communicate with the local. He also welcomes you even if you don't want it. You can use the sauna and the large jacuzzi. You can see the beautiful night sky in the room. If you want, you can enjoy a special experience beyond just staying.

AustraliaThe road leading in is a little narrow but manageable. Would recommend a smaller vehicle to get there unless you are like the locals and familiar with the area otherwise you might not be able to pass through certain narrow streets. There were some mosquitos on our first night but this was quickly resolved by providing us with mozzie repellant.
Value for money. There's a nearby train station that the host could pick us up. We drove there instead. The host G was very kind & communicated fairly well in English although he claimed that he wasn't very good. G made every effort to speak English with us which was really appreciated. We reciprocated with our very minimal Japanese. Place is clean. Lights turn on & off automatically, good effort in conserving energy and being green. Offered us a ride with his 1962 VW van to the nearby Matsugen supermarket to buy food for our BBQ dinner that we had together. G also also turned on the jacuzzi and sauna that evening. He enjoyed chatting with us about our overall stay in Japan, asking what we liked most about the country aka Most Impressive Place in this beautiful country.

SingaporeThe location is a bit hard to find, it even took a while for the Taxi driver to figure out. Maybe the owner can add a detailed neighborhood map in the property description or photos.
It's a common Japanese family home, the owner was extremely friendly. The location is a bit hard to find, the owner waited at the main road to give directions to the Taxi. Mr. Taka G is very helpful in many ways, he shared as much info as he can to help us in our planning for the following few days. He even sent us to the train station via his cute VW van.

A man sitting there eagerly waiting for his guest. While he has no need for money and everything in his house is neat and clean. When you get there, it seems a bit strange at first, but as time goes by, you realize that everything is much more than expected.
