Damp smell in room and damp feeling in bathroom - in fairness, we visited in a time of extremely heavy rain, so it may be just have been because of that, which can’t really be helped!

Great location and very comfy bed! The staff were all extremely nice, kind and helpful! They really went above and beyond. :)

None! Everything met my expectations.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sunflex Kagoshima. The hotel location is good, the personnel are polite, and all the amenities have been provided. Price/Quality ratio met my expectations. Breakfast was very good as well! Nice choice for those who want to save some money and have a pleasant stay in Kagoshima.

It felt like my room may of had a smoker staying at some point recently. There was a slight Smokey smell, I actually slept with the window open. My room had a humidifier in it which friends room didn’t. The same humidifier that was in the corridor of each floor. I assumed it was there to try to clear the smell.

I don't have anything I dislike about this hotel.

The hotel was situated close to the tram station.There were shopping streets and many restaurants near the hotel. The room was big enough and comfortable.

Hotel is in a great location, city center is near ferry to Sakurajuma is near. The hotel staff are incredible, very helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed my time in Kagoshima

Hotel Sunflex Kagoshima is in a good position, not far from tenmonkan station, the aquarium and the ferry, if one wish (highly recommend) to visit sakurajima. For breakfast you can chose among four sets, which includes one traditional Japanese and one continental. No doubt in choosing the traditional Japanese one, miso soup was amazing. Staff polite and available as always in Japan.

It´s Japan, hotel rooms are very small everywhere (unless you book an apart-hotel), bear that in mind!

The hotel is very well located — just a 10-minute walk to the ferry for Aoshima and also a short walk from the train station and the main city attractions. The Japanese breakfast was absolutely delicious! The staff went above and beyond to help us. We had originally booked for one night but decided to stay an extra night, and they kindly arranged everything so we didn’t even have to change rooms. We know it was a very busy bank holiday for them, so we truly appreciated their effort, especially since we don’t speak Japanese and they were still able to assist us.

Cleaning can be done little better.

I asked for quiet room and I got it, which was good. I could not hear the noise from the traffic near the port. Sakurajima view from 6th floor. Comfortable bed. All the necesary amenities. 7/11 just next door. Close to the port, like 5 minute walk.

This was a lovely hotel with a clean room that was a little bit larger than some Japanese city centre hotels in which I stayed. There was an en-suite bathroom, kettle and fridge, so everything one could possibly need. I could not believe how cheap it was considering the facilities provided. There is a 7-11 store next door and it is about 10-15 minutes walk to the ferry terminal from which to catch a boat to the volcano. It is also less than five minutes walk from the tram stop that connects this part of town with the mainline railway station; the station itself is too far to walk but there are restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. I could not have wished for a better place in which to stay when visiting Kagoshima, which is a city well worth visiting

It is a standard business hotel so don't expect anything too fancy. A little worn in places.

The staff was helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It is close to ferry terminal to Yakushima. For breakfast you get a choice of Japanese or Western Option. I chose Japanese breakfast which was very good but the western option also looked quite good.

Ventilation wasn't so great after bathroom use (though window could be opened), slight dampness in the room.

Had 3 rooms over the course of my stay due to change of plans, and all had dirty walls, either pen markings or something else. Multiple of the floors' hallways have ceiling underhangs low enough to walk directly into and bang your head on - I'm not particularly tall and it was still a problem.

It's a little walk from Kagoshima station, but close to Tenmonkan

Breakfast was delicious and we loved the western/Japanese choices. The room was also cleanly. It made us want to stay another night again soon.
