Location is a bit of a walk from Hiroshima or Shin-Hakushima if you have a bag, but totally doable and much easier with a carry-on or backpack.

Super amazing and helpful guy at the front desk who was very accomodating and gave good recommendations. We were able to converse fully in English which was great as a foreign tourist.

Apart from basic cutlet and bowls, no cooking pots/pans/knives etc. Unclear why there's a stovetop if nothing to cook with.

Rooms are small but I’m beginning to get used to this on the trip.

Such helpful staff, the man in reception was so helpful. Several local restaurants nearby. Excellent bus and local train access. Very peaceful for sleep.

It's a little far from the JR station (500m) which made taking bags there and back a bit of a pain (but perfectly possible).

The room was more like a flat in that it was spacious and there were cooking and dining facilities (but no cooking or eating utensils were supplied though). The quality of the facilities were very good for the price and the balcony was a lovely space to view the city from. Access to town is good as there's a tram stop withing 100m or so. We found a really lovely breakfast cafe around the corner which was a special experience.

Maybe providing some information on how to use the streetcars would be helpful to guests. I got a bit confused. The TV isn't a smart TV. It would be nice in the future to enjoy Netflix. However the JP channels did provide some nice background noise for my short stay.

The hotel is a short walk away from Shin-Hakushima station which is only 1 stop away on the train from JR Hiroshima station. It took about 2-3min on the train. There is also an Astram line which can take you to Hondori which is the busy area. So the hotel although not in the busy area is in a convenient location. The neighbourhood is quiet despite the hotel overlooking a main road. Nonetheless, I didn't have any trouble sleeping. The bed was so comfortable that I slept very well especially after taking a hot shower and bath. There were basic amenities provided which meant that I could pack light. The room was bigger than I expected, which surprised me upon arrival. In terms of size, it was not at all like typical Japanese standards. It was spacious and there was no ladder in my room so I could move around freely. The WiFi was easy to connect to and I didn't experience any connectivity issues. I saw some reviews about the fridge, but I used my Google translate and it was very easy to turn it on. The staff were also very friendly and helped me with directions on my last day. I was also able to leave my backpack before check-in and after check-out which was very helpful indeed. I didn't have to bother with finding a locker or taking my backpack with me while sightseeing. For those concerned about the negative reviews, my advice would be to think of this as part hotel-apartment. A hotel in terms of check in until midnight, security and a manned desk. An apartment in the sense that if you don't like to be bothered, you can come and go as you like. Overall I had a good stay and would like to stay here again, if I visit Hiroshima in the future.

Duvet on one of the twin beds showed stains and may not have been properly laundered. Ladder to the loft could not be repositioned and presented a hazard when navigating to the washroom.

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful front desk staff who shared neighbourhood restaurant recommendations and transportation options to venues around the city and to Miyajima. Local bus stop is located a few feet away from the hotel's entrance. Hotel suite was a comfortable size for two adult occupants.

My trash wasn’t emptied the whole time I was there, but in retrospect I’m not entirely sure that isn’t because I didn’t specifically request cleaning. I’m sure they would have done it if I’d asked.

This is a great hotel! The rooms are huge by Japanese standards, which was a welcome change after staying in much smaller rooms for a few weeks. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is pretty central, with the main station an 18min walk or 5min taxi journey. You can also take a tram downtown in about 10 mins. I would definitely stay here again!
